Some lady was walking her little rat “dog” down the road and two large dogs ran out sniffing, I think the rat dog nipped at the large dogs so they started nipping back and barking, chasing the little dog. Little shit is on a leash so a smart person would yank the leash up picking the dog up or grab it and pick it up, or kick the large dogs....not this lady she just starts doing a “peepee” dance looking jig and screaming bloody murder incoherently spinning in circles. Large dogs never even looked at her they were focused on the little rat.

Long story short the large dogs stop and run 10-15yds away but are still pacing and barking, her dumbass just stands there she doesn’t try to leave, just stands there like a moron playing with her phone probably posting on Facebook....zero survival instinct. Little rat dog looked alright it was just standing there like nothing happened.

FYI I’m not new to reloading, but most has been straight wall.
I resized about 60-70 Lapua 6.5 cases and I bumped the shoulder back about .006 vs the .001 I should have done. I basically followed the instructions on screw down the die give it a twist etc etc. ( I have bought headspace gauges now) While I’m sure I can load and fire it’s a waste of bullets and barrel life.

My question is would priming them and “fire forming with no bullet be a option. I have never fire formed so so I’ll be reading up on it later but I saw someone did cream of wheat and crisco with unique.
I’m obviously not trying to do some sort of wildcat we’re only talking about a couple thousands of a in.

Anyway I’m open to advice whether it’s trying to fix them just shoot them or write it off as a lesson learned

It seems the resounding direction is the Archimedes is the best of their lineup for the money. 3099 for a complete rifle (xylo chassis). Is there anything out there that meets the ergonomics and pricepoint? It seems any impact build would be north of $4k. Lmk your thoughts!

Anybody have any insider knowledge on when and if we are ever going to see primers again. It seems like powder and other components are slowly getting more available but primers not so much

Would it be possible for me to have this handle swept back/down a touch? I like the handle but it’s so straight it sticks out wildly far and is a bit awkward.

I ran into a strange situation today and wanted to get feedback from the horde on what could be causing the issue. Here's the situation. I am working on a load for my 6.5 Grendel. This is what happened.
I started with 50, four time fired Hornady cases. All the cases were fired from the same AR. Using the Hornady LNL progressive press, I de-capped the case. Then I bumped the shoulders back to my standard 1.208" measurement. And that's where things got interesting.

Of the 50 cases, 31 came out at 1.208 +/- 0.001". However, 19 of the cases had a headspace/shoulder measurement of 1.212 or greater, up to 1.214. And even when I ran them back through the Hornady sizing die, the shoulder measurement did not change. I took another few cases, from another group, fired from the same gun, not the original 50, and those five all bumped back to 1.208 with no issue.

I'm baffled. Any assistance or ideas would be helpful. Truth is, I can discard the cases and move on with the 31 I need for load development, however I am curious to what could be causing the issue with these cases.

Though there is some sound logic to using tampons, there was a medical thing a few years back that basically injected expanding sponge things into bullet wounds

I ordered an MPA chassis back in March and paid up front ($1575.00). At the time they stated max delivery time was 18 weeks. I never contacted them and waited patiently for 18 weeks. I was expecting a delivery of the chassis anytime back in July. They instead send me this email.

"We have decided to discontinue the Gun Candy Finish. I do apologize for this inconvenience but we strive to make our customers happy and send out the highest quality product we can. We are not satisfied with the quality and durability the Gun Candy finish leaves. Although the color looks great, slight imperfections are amplified and the overall quality of the appearance is just not up to our standards. We recognize the desire to offer amazing looking colors for distinct appearances, so we have added more custom cerakote colors to our website for you to choose from. I have copied the link below. Again, I do apologize for the inconvenience but we do feel the outcome will be much better. Let me know your thoughts and which color option will be the best alternative".

I told them my thoughts, which is I want what I already paid for and why did they wait to the 18 week mark to notify me?

So essentially they had not even processesed my order after 18 weeks ( I paid over $1500 upfront). I told them I was not happy and they said they are working on resolution with gun candy colors and it might take a few weeks. Was I willing to wait. Well Im now at 26 weeks and only received communication after I reached out to ask the status. Now they're telling me my choice is to either cancel the order, get an unpainted chassis or send it out for paint or pick an alternate basic color.

I do not buy their claim about the coatings. They are looking for ways to speed up the production process and dont want to take the time to do the job right. We all know their business is booming and they keep increasing their lead times. Their priority is volume and not the customer. What should have happened is they complete the original order, take the time to paint the chassis correctly, send me the order. Going forward for new orders they should cancel offering Gun Candy.

I highly recommend staying far away from buying MPA chassis and definetly do not pay them upfront. If you do order from them, do not pay upfront, expect longer than stated wait times, and expect little to no communication.
