Decided I needed a water cooled project. colt 1917 parts kits seem to be non existent, as do a lot of the old parts kits, seems I’m about 15 years behind the power curve. Well I found a vickers “display” gun and thought I’d take the gamble and got it. Got it before I even knew much about them but here is the gun as it showed up, along with the tripod.

My AR varmint gun has had a Jewel 2 stage trigger for over twenty years. It is worn out and now is basically a three round burst. I have to admit that I did have fun at the range today shooting the 400 yd steel plates with 3 round burst! I'm looking for either a singe or two stage trigger that is reliable and has a light enough trigger pull for shooting small groups with a heavy barrel varmint gun. What is available these days?

I am pretty new to precision rifle shooting took my first class with my savage 10fcp 308 bolt gun and got hooked i talked to someone that recommended upgrading one of my ARs to an 18inch barrel and throwing a scope on it to train with since it would be cheaper ammo wise instead of buying a whole new bolt gun. Long story short i ordered a wilson combat urban sniper barrel instead of going with a white oak because im impatient it showed up in the mail today and to my surprise it didn't have a threaded muzzle it is crowned can someone give me a rundown on crowned vs a brake should i just run it? I doubt wilson combat will let me return it considering it was my mistake and i opted to have it coated.

After a long wait I finally received the vudoo I ordered back in January I think it was. Thought it would be interesting to keep track of shots and groups etc. almost all of these were from 50 yds except for the 2 groups at 100. They are all 5 round groups as well with various ammo. Group size is being measured from outside to outside minus .22”. Very happy with this vudoo. Need to shoot some more groups at 100. I zero’d it off one lot of Center X and otherwise have been simply holding center of target for everything. None of you may care but the information is interesting to me anyway, ha. Everything off of a bench over the last week. 3 different times out shooting also. This is literally every round threw this rifle so far other than the first 5 rds to get the scope on paper. I have had no issues or hang ups in any way so far.

The wife and I are starting to look at buying a winter retirement home. I retired from the USCG about 5 years ago, and I am about 15yrs from retiring again.
