Barrels these days for a off the shelf build

I van vouche that I got two Rainer UM 6 are barrels with soft barrel extentions. On the second one they insisted they needed to out it together. There assembly was absolute shit and they out my gas block back on so tight I had to grind on screw out and throw it away. They did not replace it either. It had to be removed because it was installed crooked. There is at least one fucking retard assembling uppers there.

Help me diagnose popping primers

Pulled the barrel last night and took some pics of how deep the case is in the chamber. Also took some better pics of the blown cases.

Primers are not pierced, they're blown to pieces. The primer holes are hugely enlarged.

The load may be too hot, but on every shot fired that doesn't blow a primer, the brass and primer look great. Nice round edges on the primers, no signs of "ejector swipe" type marking of the case head. I know it doesn't have a spring loaded ejector, and I'm hoping you know what I mean. No obvious signs of pressure.

I only neck sized for the first few cycles. Switched to full length sizing just on general principals. The bolt was still closing easily on neck sized rounds. I don't think bumping the shoulder back farther is necessary unless I don't understand the concern. Remember, it's a bolt gun, not a gasser.

Here are the pics:

Buying a Handgun is Hard

You could list Wilson Combat with the SIG P320 mess since they make custom P320s, so if there really is an issue, they certainly should have caught it and shouldn't be selling them.

They still sell them, so if you're going to kill SIG for it, Wilson Combat has to go as well.

And I own and carry my Wilson P320, still, no concerns whatsoever.

Precision Rifles.....show em!!

Hello,
New to the site and new to long range shooting. I could not have imagined how fun and the extent of the learning involved. Here are my two recent purchases and in the mist of taking long distance training. I reached 1770 yards with the AR10 and had the MPA bolt action made this week to compare. Both are fun....

Can you give me run down on the AR10 ?

The enemy has been behind the wire much longer than you think. 2017 Vegas shooting.

You forgot Sasquatch… never forget Sasquatch.

PSWhat ever happened to that whack job on Scout who was taking us to task for wearing Bigfoot suits and making big footprints? He parachuted in like a maniac to say it was guys like us who were interfering with his serious research! And yet no epic thread post back then.. yes, I still own my Bigfoot suit.
Had to be princesspicklebunny.
Think he was trafficking whores in from Haiti or some weird shit like that too..

Ah! A fellow padentic. Cheers!

I confess, I make a living as a gunwriter and 2A political writer. Since transitioning to this career, my tendency to be even more critical of the words I use, read, or hear hasn't helped the situation. Thankfully, my wife is patient and has a knack for placating me as I think out loud. Either that or she's good at muting me while looking like she is paying attention. Good for her.

Barrel Torque Ludicrocity

Out of curiosity, do you happen to know which kind the new Seekins rifles use? I hope it's the AI system and not the Curtis.

Thanks for the explanation by the way, it was very good.
Thanks. I do not know what Seekins uses now. At one point they had a bolt rifle with an aluminum receiver that was using a barrel extension to carry the loads much like an AR10.

Maybe “point load” isn’t perfect, but with the apposing 60* threads, the mechanism being compressed into the side of the thread is pushing forward on the tenon as it is pulling it back. I do not feel the tenon in an AWMC is loaded in tension due to the locking mechanism.
I get what you're saying, but with respect, your concept is incorrect here. There's an air gap clearance in the threads, which is why you can screw them together with only running torque. When you bottom the shoulder to the face of the action this closes the air gap on only one side of the thread and opens it further on the other side. The screw closes down the pitch diameter in the localized area and this drives axial load (tension) into the joint because the shoulders are butted against each other.

If there was not a shoulder reference in place then your argument would be valid and it would just be contact friction holding the joint in place.

If they were doing something proprietary then maybe, but most of them aren’t.
Oh, I absolutely expect this to be the case. By the way, I think I used proprietary incorrectly here. I didn't mean it necessarily to mean that it is by their own spec or design that they own. For instance, I have always had great experiences with BCM rifles and have always wanted to know what they use. They keep their sources tight-lipped for their own reasons, but I don't think my description of proprietary is really accurate in that sense. Maybe I'm being pedantic. In any event, yeah, I agree.

Rifle Scopes School me on Magnification between brands. March PRS

The FOV between the March 5-42 and the ZCO 5-27 is actually quite significant and will make targets feel smaller but the mag ranges are virtually identical between the brands on top tier optics.
I realize what I’m seeing now. Shit was playing tricks on me…
