For people who may have come in late to this thread - there was commentary/question about the fast-twist project while Old Vudoo debris was still rising in the [fecal]storm back in April. Free, free at last, Mike wrote about it at some length back on page 223 of this forum.

I was one of the people who talked with Jill about a fast-twist Vudoo. I remember feeling kinda "whaaaat..." afterward. The post linked above explained why my perception was correct... but I had no inkling that the internal issues were far deeper than that bad vibe.

I've spent awhile this evening reading several dozen posts that started when "Vudoo" went silent - I think it all started in this thread circa 23-April while I think the actual axe fell on 15-April.

How far we've come in less than four months, largely due to one man's creativity, integrity, and perseverance.

I talked to a barrel manufacturer test crew about it. Basically said the same thing. I guess if a guy could buy points on very small targets past 200 it would be hard to resist. I just did a 5 shot centerfire group at 400 the other day with 1 1/4” vertical. A 24 shot custom Rimfire rifle group at the same distance was 9 1/4” of vertical.

I suppose it's personal preference, but I really don't care for my Triggertech duty 2 stage, it feels heavier to me, especially on the second stage than my LaRue's. Of course I had the LaRue's first and more of them, but after a couple sessions I put the LaRue back in my favorite rifle and benched the TT Duty. I've recently put the Duty into another lower and have been having light strikes with AAC 5.56, only trigger I've had that with.

I don't find this to be an issue at all - the only time it comes up is on my rifles where I can't eject a loaded case due to its length (thus requiring a bolt pull). I ended up putting a shaft collar around one of the posts of all my cheek risers so I can pull the piece off and quickly put it back on at exactly the right height without worrying about the snap clip shooting off.

And I have probably half a dozen 3/16" wrenches in my range tool kit and spread around my range bag...

I transport most of my rifles in a hard case with the bolt pulled, so I’m constantly taking my bolts out. That’s where it’s going to suck most. But also cleaning, etc, etc.
I haven’t picked a case for this new rifle yet. maybe I’ll just use a nice soft case.

I think I remember reading that very mild powder compression (say 103% capacity) or so was beneficial as it resulted in more uniform powder packing because powder would not shift around like it would in a case that was partially filled. I have no data to back this up.

Finding a dollar in newly washed pants, or a coin in the Walmart parking lot.

Absolutely. I will not be making the jump to custom Rimfire ammo, even if it become ubiquitous. Reloading centerfire is not what I long to do.

I messed around with what was supposed to be a quality 6 arc barrel. I never could get it shoot. I had a bunch of other problems also.

Then I picked up a cheap cmmg 6 arc barrel, while I was waiting for an x-caliber 6 arc barrel, having washed my hands cometeley of the company with the trouble barrel. The cmmg shooots pretty good for a 16" .750 profile barrel, and the x-caliber shoots quite well. It is a 22"+2 gas spr profile.

This is where I purchased the barrel. Unless, I missed something in this article, I believe it's a Lilja 3 barrel. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
