Somehow in your head that's probably a really good analogy, but it makes no sense.

UNLESS- you are trying to imply that to resist misconduct on the part of an "armed professional law enforcement officer" it is the same as trying to reverse the momentum of a heavily-cargo-laded 18 wheeler at short distance, in an intersection.

...and if the impulse to do misconduct is really that powerful, such that it is nearly unstoppable, how about we enforce equally powerful consequences?
Whoa, which part is misconduct? That's a legal term, so use it correctly. To say they are morons is one thing, but misconduct is clearly defined.

You...um... wouldn't be talking out of your ass here right?

Cops absolutely had the right to disarm her in that scenario, and I doubt we will ever ask them to let people shoot at them without returning fire, so... where is the misconduct? There's a clear lack of wisdom on display, but I doubt seriously anything anything they did there was illegal.

MB,
On DEFTI and the 9 Twist Barrels…
I’m confused with some of your statements and would prefer to not venture up any dead end roads…
Were you implying that 9 twist was a bad idea, or was there pushback from the rest of Vudoo? Or did they think it was a good direction and your experience said otherwise?
I followed that original thread closely as I have interest in pushing beyond established boundaries, but don’t have unlimited funds for long distance rimfire.
Yo Dude, great question and this is a topic I now have no issue speaking to openly. But first, I'll issue an apology (@grauhanen and others) to those that really wanted me to discuss data, and I refused as it was during the "course of battle," so to speak.

So, I'll start by saying, the fast twist project, in total, was never about just the barrels. The project in total was about the overall system, which is what the V-22 platform was designed to be. The V-22 was never just the action (@David Lott and @jelrod1 get this).

When faster twist rates came up in the beginning, Bryan Litz and I discussed it while at an event in TX. As you can imagine, it was a great conversation and Bryan said, as he always has, a number of things I was intrigued by. The majority of it I agreed with and some of it I didn't. But, anyway, the path started. Unfortunately, a parallel path started by the sales guy in St. George, one thing led to another, and they built a couple rifles using Bartlein blanks, but they had no idea what the math said and no way to even do the math. The rifles were typical 18", threaded muzzle builds and of course, they shot horribly. So, there was an immediate turn off in St. George with no ability to envision what it meant to seize an incredible opportunity.

However, I stayed on the path, developed initial data and built a rifle in my lab with a nine twist, 22" finished length with a non-threaded muzzle. Aside from the nine twist, I also had blanks made at twist rates between nine and 16, all Ace blanks. Not that it's an Ace vs Bartlein debate, as the brand isn't relevant, but I could get the Ace blanks pretty quickly and personally, it was my favorite of the blanks we were using at the time.

Anyway, my initial thoughts on the nine twist performance using the parameters that the math said should be optimal; I was highly pleased. So, I took rifles down to another NRA World Championship and the nine twist was one of them. I told no one that there were prototype parts in the nine twist gun (more than just the barrel and I said nothing about the faster twist rate), including Paul. However, I sat behind a spotting scope over the course of the entire event (I wouldn't let anyone else sit behind the scope) and called impacts on target at 200 yards and beyond and plotted data between the nine twist gun and 16 twist guns. The collective group sizes were starkly different over the course of more than 5000 rounds down range.

Following that event, I handed the rifle to Daniel Horner and he used it in classes to further the collection of data. His findings agreed with mine. However, I noted some interesting characteristics....the greater variable was a combination of ambient temperature and increased angular velocity of the projectile (remember, the projectile hardness is pretty low on the BHN scale). But, this variation validated the need for system focus, not a barrel focus. And just so everyone understands, the characteristics I noted were weird deviations in group size at distance, but based on noting conditions, one could easily detect repeatability. Perfect!

So, now, next steps were planned to focus on measures that would bring the entirety of the system into alignment, which Paul had no capacity to understand and its why I started sharing with the community. As far as Paul was concerned, the project was a failure after the wrong length barrels with threaded muzzles (I think most know how I feel about threaded muzzles on a 22LR using a 1/2-28 thread) were used.

Anyway, I made a trip down to a test range to gather more data, mostly to compare TOF between the nine twist and other twist rates. Two guys from Lothar Walther met me there, as they were part of the plan and brought rifles with them with 12 twist barrels. And, Ivan Wells met me there, as this project had Custom Shop all over it (I still have the pictures of the shooting somewhere.). We did a TOF comparison using nine, 12 and 16 twist barrels and, from a system focus perspective, the nine twist was far more promising as it related to truly advancing what it meant to shoot 22LR. The 12 twist was marginally better than 16, as was the 13 I tested prior. Using a 12, 13 etc., is nothing more than maintaining status quo and accepting things related to construed conventional wisdom.

But, based on what my highly calibrated crystal ball was saying, I started clamming up and further disengaging from a group that had obviously forgotten who and what we said we were. In the beginning, it was "Envision And Create The Exceptional," but what it turned into was a real drag and it was obvious to this community.

I'll close with this. In thinking about all this stuff, I'm not sour or angry. Instead, I'm thankful and at peace that things happened to me and for me that separated me from what was dangerous and unhealthy. What was meant to be, will be.

I hope this answers your questions and clears up any confusion.

After killing unarmed man, Texas deputy told colleague: 'I just smoked a dude'

So, let's talk through the shit the acab crowd can't be bothered to consider.

1. The dude ran a stop sign, started the whole thing, in the middle of the night.
2. He's driving a car with an out of state paper tag that expired 1-3-22, and this happened 8-14-22, so the paper tag had been expired for 7.5 months.
3. Began arguing immediately instead of giving up his license, insurance, registration etc.
4. As soon as he was out of the car, he buried his hands in his waistline. He's lucky that alone didn't get him shot. Dumbass.
5. When the cop tries to pull his arms behind him, he starts by resisting, but then transfers to a wrist grip. He's actually controlling the cops right arm at one point.
6. When he tries to drop him, which he had every reason to do, the corpse is fighting him. He's refusing to be handcuffed.
7. On his second takedown attempt, the corpse fights even harder, then runs.

Now, I don't think he should have shot him. I don't think it was neccessary, but the dead guy caused this situation to happen, 100%. If you are too dumb to understand that you have to handle any situation differently when one or both parties are armed, then you may find yourself in one of these videos with your meth head momma crying in front of her trailer.

Thank you! !!!!!!
Finally an objective viewpoint that doesn’t cite a 🏳️‍🌈lgbtq🏳️‍🌈 USMC news source.

Much respect.

You missed the entire point. You guys always do.

I have not ever justified the police activity here. I'm talking about not doing dumb shit that gets you shot.

Next time you hit an intersection and have the right of way, pull out in front of that 18 wheeler and show him that you have the right of way. You fucking tell them while they are fitting up your prosthetic everything that you had the right to pull out in front of that truck.

Somehow in your head that's probably a really good analogy, but it makes no sense.

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

I don’t think I could mimic the fart sounds of @Tugboater but have to be satisfied with the FoxPro and a distressed rabbit call.

This is a young male taken with a head shot at 106 yards. 224 Valkyrie 88 grain ELD.

He came in fast and stopped about 50 yards short of the e-caller. That was long enough to shut down his operating system.

THIS is the delish-content that keeps me HOOKED...

Did you know that you can get halfway through your "steps" and just because you live in the United States of America, you are 100% safe, and anyone who says otherwise is merely voicing an opinion?

YOU (or anyone) can go clear their backyard right now- inspired by GI Jane, GI Joe, GI Tract, or that 13 Hours movie about the guys who worked with al Qaeda to bring down the Brother Leader.

When you get to 4 and start to speculate, that's where you fall apart though. Why would the police be pointing guns at a Mom protecting her family, while a (presumably dangerous) Criminal is on the loose? Seems implausible.

If they were real Police, they would have said, "Which way did he go!" and continued performing their jobs.

There's really no way to create these "situations" out of thin air and pure misconduct, and then pick apart what actions on the part of the victim are considered "appropriate," all while completely denying any responsibility for the actions of an "armed professional law enforcement officer."

It's perfectly absurd.

StaBall HD vs H1000

And that was the load you posted the chrono for?
Yes. That was the lowest sd it's ever given me. I shot two groups after that and they were 5 and 6 sd. As long as I get single digits I'm happy.

I've shot that load to a thousand a couple times. If I can stay on top of the wind I get about 90% hits on a 2/3 ipsc. South Texas wind is something else though. And I suck at reading wind. I only get to stretch out like that 3-4 times a year if I'm lucky.

Cleaning up the leade question….

I’ll go ahead and open myself to the seeming requisite to be ridiculed for using a bore scope. Get it out of your system, you’ll feel better…..😏

Have seen a couple posts about some rather shitty chambers produced by Bergara in the heavy barreled actions. After a couple positive range sessions I went ahead with a good cleaning and decided to have a look at the bore. Other than the slight smear at the edge of the leade the barrel looks good.

HI3R8E.jpg

Seeing as this chamber *doesn’t engrave* on the rifling when chambering do you think it would hurt to have the leade cleaned up to remove the slight imperfection. This barrel already has shown some sub MOA groups at 50yds in the limited testing I’ve done.

Edit…..
Checked a handful of different brands and it does engrave on a couple but not all….
My apologies…..

BadgeCam from the Weezer Wife Shooting

All of my horses are tall. I'm not sure if you ride the trash truck or jerk off truckers, and maybe you do both, who am I to try to put you in a box? Some of you are fairly industrious. Let me explain in detail where this woman caused her own injury, and then we can move on. I'll use a number system, so you won't get confused.

1. She lives in California
2. She lives in a city surrounded by other idiots, separated only by 6' of privacy fence.
3. She heard about this disturbance and instead of locking her doors and protecting her family in the house, she decided: "fuck it, I saw GI Jane and that was basically a documentary, so I'm going to sweep and clear my backyard".
4. She is engaged by the police, and instead of complying, she starts raising her gun at them, like someone who wants to be on the news.
5. She refuses to drop her gun when they order her to, for several minutes.
6. Then and only then, she chambers a round and shoots at them.

Now, I know you have never been accused of being very bright, and man, today isn't the day that things are going to change for you, but now we are on page 3 of a discussion about how bad cops are because they shot a woman who was shooting at them.

Now splash some water on your face and get back out there, those truckers aren't going to finish themselves. Bitch.

THIS is the delish-content that keeps me HOOKED...

YOU (or anyone) can go clear their backyard right now- inspired by GI Jane, GI Joe, GI Tract, or that 13 Hours movie about the guys who worked with al Qaeda to bring down the Brother Leader and then got surprised when they found out they weren't considered full members.

Duck food to grow in a stock tank

Widgeon Grass, find it, paper sack and yard rake and keep it damp, transfer to smaller paper sacks and submerge them in shallow water and place a rock on the sack, let nature take its course.

It's not for everyone, most would be better served with barnyard grass, chufa, millets or even hybrid milo or sorghums, easier to control. Latter if you have wild turkeys around.

Why modify the turret to be non locking

I think a number of folks had that problem with the Gen 3 - so much so, that "return scope to Vortex to have it adjusted" became a first step folks did upon receiving them. I've felt them before/after that trip home, and it does make a difference in how easy it is to accidentally lock the turret, while still retaining the ability to lock it.

That problem was with the initial run that would drop easily and where this whole rep of locking easy came from. After they figured out the issue and fixed it there isn’t a problem with the locking turret unless someone is very heavy handed as mentioned. Just reaching up and spinning it will not lock it. I had an original and did the usual fixes at the time like a spacer or o-ring so it wouldn’t accidentally lock but even then it wasn’t bad for me. The newer scopes do not have that issue. I have a couple new ones I got over the past few months and there is no issue with it locking accidentally.

Health Insurance

I kept my insurance when I retired as a federal civilian. My portion increases at 15-20% a year. So much for the official govt inflation rate.

This year my medical, dental and vision eats about $800 a month. I have Tricare as an option but it's basically worthless. They are the worst and no doctors want to accept it. Every person I've dealt with from them is basically retarded.

Eventually that entire pension check will be consumed by insurance and after that I don't have to pay anything extra. I'm fine with that. It will suck to lose the income but I really like medical insurance that works.

My wife is a couple of years older and already signed up for Medicare. They wanted almost $500 a month for part B because I was still working. Right now we are planning to go it alone without part B and just private insurance. I've never met anyone who can explain part B or how it's cost is determined. I just know for both of us it will be about as expensive as buying my retirement medical with far worse benefits.

After killing unarmed man, Texas deputy told colleague: 'I just smoked a dude'

Upon further investigation, the judge denied the cop qualified immunity. So, sounds like he's going to pay.
