What upper receivers are you guys using to get a good thermal fit?

What brand is your lapping tool ?
I memory serves me... the Brownell's lapping tool fit my BCM uppers.... The PTG's would not fit the BCM's

That said... All my SOLGW stripped uppers are thermal fit... however they are all a few years old production.
The SOLGW uppers all have a snugger fit on ( between the upper and lower ) on various brand lowers.

From very snug on a BCM lower, ( have to slap it apart ) to much better on a PSA lower.
I have two lapping tools. One from Brownells and one Wheeler.

My Brownells tool is 15 years old. This particular upper was way too tight. It's not a big deal. I just prefer to go with something else for now. Having problems with two out of three was just too much.

KAC vs Radian Model 1 vs JP enterprises ctr-02

What's up fellas. Not trying to stir the pot here or get a debate started. I'm hoping there is some people who has played with all three of these rifles (Knight's Armament, JP Enterprises, and Radian Model 1), and what your opinion would be. From research on other forums, it seems the jp is the smoothest shooting ar in the industry. My main purpose is shooting from 100-750yds with my son (8years old). Just curious if the juice is worth the squeeze for one of those rifles. Thanks fellas.
I don’t have the complete rifles (thank you WA state), I have all thee uppers, as well as LMT. If I were going to war it would be either LMT or KAC. If I were shooting with my kids it would be my JPs, to me the Radian is a Really nice BCM. All three a wonderful, I shoot my LMTs ( D Wilson converted barrels) and JPs the most.

RRS TFCT 14L w Anvil 30 too heavy for backpack backcountry hunting?

Could someone kindly provide a link to the best wrap for the top set of legs so I don’t have to reinvent the wheel?

I presume it is largely to protect the outer leg, which is what I would be after. And something that could be removed later if I decided to sell it.

Maggie’s Best Guitar Solo

Disagree there is a best, SRV. Electric with huge fat railroad tracks for strings to a 12 string acoustic, you can find him playing all styles and well. Best across the board. Now there can be better in a specific area, but they will fall far short outside of their specific field. Vanhalen foe example. Take the tapping away and where are you.

I look at it like Roy Clark, sure others are better than he is with a specific thing, but hand Jimmy Page a violin and he would not know what to do. (yes I know) I will say he was the best string instrument player. Same line of thinking goes with SRV.
Whatever you say, Brother. I'm not going to argue against Stevie. As I said, he is tied with my favorite of all time with George Lynch, but I'll never say anyone is the Best. I've been playing for 46 years now, and one thing I've learned is that there will always be someone who comes along and stands the world on its ear. "Best" is always an opinion, and is based on what we want/expect to hear, but that's different for many people.
In my opinion, Stevie's unique, "best" attribute is making the listener feel the emotion and even pain involved in doing what he did. If you play things the way he did, you WILL experience some pain. His guitar tech Rene' Martinez talks about him ripping his finger calluses off during performances, and having to super glue them back on so he could continue. He could make you FEEL that pain musically (it's the Blues, after all). He could say more with a single note than many listed hear could say with a hundred. Like the Challenger disaster, and 9/11, I remember exactly where I was when I heard he died in a helicopter crash (in my truck, on the radio, at school in Auburn).

Accuracy International Picture Thread

There is a huge distance between “slicker than goose shit” and the way that new ATX/cs feel.
My new AT doesn't feel great either.

After a bit of dry fire and grease it feels OK but still feels considerably worse than my Tikkas.

I watch videos if guys running AI bolts and wonder how that could be possible with the rifle in current form.

techy guys, please read. looking for summer internship in tech field for sophomore college student.

Well, since he is graduating around May 2027, it isn't that critical he finds one this summer in my opinion. More so that he can find one between junior and senior year. This fall, back in college,he should go to the school's out placement service. Usually that is when most companies are looking for the next summer.

https://prosple.com/software-engineering-internships-usa, I found this site which you may have already tried.

Anyway, one guy I worked with was working as a caddie at a local golf course and was able to meet several VP's at the company I started with and was able to get in with those contacts.

Another happened to be a musician (played piano). He worked for a couple of years in this and realized that making a living would be difficult. Went back to school in engineering, but would still play gigs in the summer and for holiday parties. My company booked him for a Christmas party for the higher level management and met several VP's that got him an internship that summer and a job there after he graduated.

So, if you can't get an internship this summer, find a job that would help him work on his social skills and forces him to interact with people. Being that you are in Vegas, tending bar is an example where he would learn how to deal with people.

Hope things work out the way you would like.

6arc bolt gun

I just had a 22 arc built on a Kelblys action. Shot hornady match 88 gns just to get some brass. I will say it shot lights out with those. Tiny groups at 100, es and so not amazing but what you would expect from factory ammo. Can’t wait to see what it does with load work up. Thinking I will be shooting 75 Elms and 80.5 bergers. 22 arc in a bolt gun is exciting seems like it’s going to run with the 223 AI without the feeling issues
