Digital smart boresighter (Zero-Verify)

Going digital!!!! The app will boresight, record zero, and verify zero when needed without going to the range. I am in the process of allowing companies that do analog boresighting to license the technology. The goal is to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to identify all factors contributing to a bullet's trajectory. Once identified, the variables can be replaced, and a new zero can be produced with these new non-standard conditions (weather, shooter ability, weapon, and ammunition performance. Please review the video clip, give me feedback, and ask any questions.

Is bullet still stable/accurate after it goes subsonic?

Is a bullet still stable/accurate after it goes subsonic?

I know that my precision AR is a tack driver out to 800 yards, but falls off the face of a cliff at 900. Thinking that is because at 800 yards bullet is going transonic. So thinking about various cartridges, what is the max range? I ran through the following calcs:
CartridgeMVBulletYardsFPSmach
5.56285075 BTHP80011731.07
6.5CM2789147 ELD-m150012311.10
30882550178 ELD-M100012271.12
300WM2850225 ELD-M170012031.10
338 Lapua2900285 ELD-M190011731.07
Seems like many are shooting those cartridges past the above distances I have. Also, what would the advantage (other than energy) be for a 338 over a 300WM at a mile and wouldn't you be able to take a 300WM as far as a 338 accurately?

I want to take my 6.5 CM and try shooting at a mile (the bullet will be at 1050 fps or m=.94) - will this be possible? My 300WM is only a 2 minute rifle so no point in trying to take it that far & I do not have a 338.

Suppressors and SBRs out of reconciliation bill

Well it was a good dream that we'd no longer have to have an anal exam to extend the 2nd amendment to own suppressors and SBRs, but the parliamentarian has axed these two measures. So unless John Thune grows a spine, or JD Vance steps in, there's little that can be done from what I understand.

Thoughts on these lower-profile HUB direct thread adapters?

Open to others that I may have missed. I have a TBAC titanium version on one can and a SS Otter Creek on another (latter is not lo-pro), but am interested in canvassing the field.

I’m looking to reduce the OAL of my suppressor a little. Not sure if there’s a material difference between titanium vs SS in this application (besides weight), but I note the SS Otter Creek one seems to have less wobble when spinning it on. Maybe that’s not important?

Must have wrench flats and be DT and want quality (low runout). Price not important.

Kinda attracted to the Rex as it reduces the OAL the most, but I wonder about Rex quality and if the design has some trade-offs (reduces blast chamber too much, maybe?).

Nomad 30 wont shoot, warranty issue or just bad luck?

I could use some advice. I have 3 Dead Air suppressors; Sandman L Key-Mo, Nomad L DT and a Nomad 30 DT. I bought the Sandman L and Nomad L first and they shoot great on every rifle I own. I picked up the Nomad 30 most recently and the groups are usually double the normal size when I use it. I have tried it across 5 rifles and 4 calibers, it is always double my usual dispersion or more. The groups seem to throw flyers every other round.
Is this something that might be covered under warranty or is it just bad luck and I need to deal with it?

Zeiss Conquest HDX LRP 15x56 Binos with MRAD review

I was recently lucky enough to win a pair of Zeiss Conquest HDX LRP 15x56 Binos with MRAD from Cameraland, anyone that has been on this site will be familiar with this great store.

I never have reviewed high end optics, nor have I owned any until now. So, coming from a limited background, this review will be short and to the point.

Hands down these are the best binos I have ever looked through. I currently own a pair of Vortex Fury and Leupold BX-4 Pro Guide HD 12x50 binos.

These Zeiss binos are exceptionally clear and sharp to my eyes and the color looks true to life. They blow my current binos out of the water. I wish I had an adapter to show how clear the glass is on these binos.

The reticle is the one option that none of my previous optics have. I have a Vortex Diamondback that I use for while shooting that works great but I have always lamented not having a reticle to help give corrections for misses. Now that I have these Zeiss binos I will be able to help give accurate spotting corrections. The reticle is "T" shaped and has 5 mils of elevation and 10 mils of windage.

There is a lever on the left tube to allow you to level the reticle no matter how much you open or close them. This will make them great for anyone to use. The focus is very smooth and precise. You can lock the diaopter rings which is nice so they don't move on you.

These binoculars feel tough and are listed as magnesium with full rubber armor. They are chunky boys coming in at about 45 oz, but I would take them hunting over my Diamondback Spotting scope. They are listed as waterproof, fog proof, and shockproof. They have removable eye cups which is nice if you want to clean them.

They come with a tripod adapter which is how they will be used the majority of time for. I shoot a long range varmint silhouette match and these will be getting used in an upcoming match at the end of June.

Beside the tripod adapter, they come with a case, straps, and lens covers.

The case is basic and I wish it came with a zipper compartment to store the tripod adapter and the tool that comes with it.

Annealed brass opinion

Just tried my first batch of brass with my induction heater and looking for opinions. First off the brass hasn’t been cleaned so that’s why the neck is black but do you guys see anything that looks like I over annealed them? I attempted to stop the instant I saw glowing. I sacrificed a few pieces doing the plier test but can’t tell any difference. Just looking for opinions for safety sake because I really like the gun im shooting them through

SOLD FS: Crye Ghillie kit XL - $300

Howdy,

I’ve got most of a Crye Ghillie deployment kit here for sale today.

I got it when I did a Sniper’s Leader course a few years back at Benning, and haven’t touched it since.

It will include the Top, Pants, Boonie, the odd reversible overcoat and pants, a canvas drag bag, some CB fabric to reinforce high wear spots, some mesh, and a whole bunch of the little tassels Crye came up with to try and replace netting and Jute.

Honestly it’s a great suit, it was pretty well thought out and very well made.

I’m pretty sure it’s a size XL, and the boonie is 7-3/4. Definitely big on the boonie, but they were out of 7-1/2 that day.

I’d like to get $350 for the whole set plus shipping.

SOLD 100mm Bowl Tripod - $250

Are you looking for a sturdy carbon fiber tripod that won’t break the bank?

We’ll have I got a deal for you:

This tripod from E-Image is just what you’re looking for. Fully extended it stands 7’ tall, has a 100mm bowl (I’ll include the leveling base for no extra charge), has supported my fat ass (280lbs) and really does a great job holding whatever you put in it about as steady as the main gun on an M1A1 MBT. As it sits it’s already ARCA compatible, and that leveling head really is all I found I needed for 95% of stages I shot with it.

Looking for $250 plus shipping.

ps- please excuse the mess, trying to get this room cleaned out and put together
