6BR Norma shooter needs help with hunting bullet selection.

I’ve been shooting MatchBurners in my BR for the better part of 5-6 years and only shooting steel/paper with awesome results.

My son is getting to the age where he’s more than happy shooting MY rifle and has the itch to kill some stuff.

I initially was searching for a bullet that could serve as both a target and hunting projectile that was economical and would be able to handle thin to medium skin game to several hundred yards… Mainly hogs, deer, coyote and ram.

I did not find anything that I was happy to let bridge the gap, and decided that the best option would be to keep my current range load, and start a new load development with a hunting bullet.

I’m still wide open on hunting bullet options but have done some initial development with the 103 gr ELD-X.

I’m concerned about interlock vs bonded cores, and know a bonded bullet would be better on hogs specifically, which I foresee being the bulk of what we kill in TX.

Seeing as how he will be shooting whatever we decide on out of a 6BR and likely at BR speeds… 2700-ish… should I stay with an interlock construction to get safe and reliable expansion, even if I give up a little bit of weight retention?

SOLD Gray Ops CNC Hunter Tripod Plate

BNIB Gray Ops CNC Hunter Tripod Plate. I bought two, only plan to use one. This one is still in the bag.

Asking $200 shipped

The Hunter Plate has an integrated 4-way arca dovetail machined into the base. Making it compatible with any arca style tripod head. There are multiple accessory locations including an array of 1/4-20 threaded holes (wind flags) and the Gray Ops V-groove accessory interface (compatible with the Gray Ops scope mount accessories) for attaching two different lengths of picatinny rails. This is super helpful for attaching kestrel holders, wind flags, angle indicators, etc.

Since everyone runs their tripod setup differently, this plate's versatility lets you configure it the way you want.

Dimensions- 8" x 4.75"

Weight- 11 ounces

Coating- Black Mil-spec Hardcoat Anodized

Wilson single stage press?

Anyone have any info on this? Looks promising - like the German Prazipress but without all the EU shipping hassle.

AlumaHyde 2 Experiment

Blasted stainless Benchmark barrel MTU.
Degreased with Gunscrubber
Earth Brown color
3 coats with heat gun in between
Will hang for a few weeks

I shook the can for 5-7 minutes prior to each coat. Turned can upside down to clear pickup tube each time. Spun on an A2 flash hider to hang by 550 cord.

So far everything looks good. The Earth Brown on steel is lighter than expected, but on par with what I wanted.

Used ChatGtp to dial in times and temps for heat gun based on garage environmentals. Temp & humidity. Hope that robot didn’t trick fuck me! Lol

1 in 12 twist / 155 Scenar stabilize?

Hey guys,
I have a 20" 1/12 twist barrel. Will it stabilize a 155 Lapua scenar or am I totally off base here.
Correct me if Im wrong but isnt the scenar longer than a typical 155 grain bullet? Would I need a faster twist?
I am shooting 168 grain to 800yds no problem but I would like to push it to 1000yds. I tried 175 grain but
my rifle doesnt like it at all, 1.3" groups at 100yds.

Barrett M107A1 muzzlebrake on the M82A1??

Can someone tell me if the Barrett M107A1 muzzlebrake will fit & thread on the M82A1?? I will never suppress it, but love the look of the M107 brake vs the big doofy arrowhead shaped 2-port muzzle brake on the M82. Looking to buy the QDL Muzzle Brake Kit, SKU: 15107-KIT
