Help me pick some binos

Hey guys, I have a set of old Cabela's intensity HDs. They had a problem and Cabela's warrantied them for me. They basically gave me a gift card so I'm trying to figure out how to best use my money. These were 12x50 but I think I'm going to go up to 15x56. I am just starting to play around at longer ranges.

I looked through the new Intensity ED 15x56. Also the Vortex Crossfire and Diamondback HD. I love the idea of the vortex warranty. The new intensities just have a 1-year warranty. The crossfire was the same price as the intensity but looked way less clear. I was really surprised that the Intensities also looked much more clear and crisp than the 70$ more expensive Diamondbacks. And I he fit and finish was much better as well. My price point is around 300 ish. I'm not sure how much l would have to spend to get the glass clarity of a vortex to match the intensity.

Also, l could go another direction since l was planning on buying a rangefinder soon anyway. l looked at the Sig Kilo Canyon 5000 rangefinding binoculars. They were 10x and nowhere near the clarity, and 600$ but I wouldn't be buying a rangefinder either. I have no experience with rangefinding binoculars. It just seems like a cool way to combine two pieces of kit into one.

How would you guys spend my money? But it has to be from Cabela's.

Slow 308

Hey guys. I have an Sig Cross and waiting for a new comp profile 308 barrel from Straight Jacket Armory. I am building a steady hunting rifle. I say that because length plays into the equation but weight does not. So the barrel will be 18” long. I have a young son who shot that rifle last deer season in Federal 6.5 creed amd he did well with it. I was wondering, how slow can I safely shoot 308 ammo. I know he won’t shoot over 250 yards and would like to find something lower recoil for him. Looking at MV only, 2,300fps works all the way out to 400 yards.

SOLD Springfield Armory MC Operator

Springfield Armory MC Operator with around 50-100 rounds through it. VZ grips and an aftermarket magwell/mainspring housing I took off another gun. Took it to the range once then it has sat in the safe for several years. Will include 2 Wilson 47D magazines.
$1100 shipped, no trades.

Has anyone used 100 Concepts scope caps?

For those of you that's used them, how did you like them?

I like the idea of them but I'm wondering if they would be a total pain to use with a scabbard like they have in an eberlestock pack? Also, would they be a nightmare to use with the neoprene scope protectors?

Totally seems like it would be, I'm kind of hoping you guys tell me it's fine lol.

Firearms sold - Terminus Apollo with ti knob and triggertech special, BR barrel or action wrench

Action is 0099, one of the first 100 made. Been awesome. I've run custom barrels and prefits on it. Always perfect.

I updated the bolt knob to titanium... got me an ounce on a NRL hunter build :)

comes with TT special. Or I can pull it off and drop the price.

As is package: $1155 shipped
No trigger: $1045 shipped

Add an action wrench for $70. DLC coated action wrench from Terminus. Won't sell the wrench separately without action.

Add a Proof competition contour BR Barrel with about 2000 rds on it for $125. Still shooting awesome... in fact group size hasn't changed since about 125 rds in.

SOLD *SOLD!* FNH SPR A5M XP 20” .308WIN - $2250!

*SOLD!*

This is an amazing condition FNH SPR A5M XP rifle:

-Accurized M70-pattern action (uses pre-MOA trigger)
-McMillan A5 Adjustable stock
-20” .308WIN 1:10 twist, straight-fluted, heavy barrel with chrome-lined bore (factory guaranteed to shoot 1/2MOA for 10,000 rounds)
-threaded 5/8-24 w/ thread protector
-FN TBM bottom metal
-Seven *very* hard to find 10rnd magazines
-Three 5rnd magazines
-Factory manual
-Factory test target (3-shot, 0.52” group at 100y with FGMM 168gr)
-Logbook going back to factory test shots

This rifle is absolutely amazing and no longer in production. The logbook shows 403 shots fired, and I put another 40 through it that I failed to log a few years ago, for a total of 443 rounds fired. It’s accurate, smooth, and ready to shoot! It does have one area where some of the texturing on the forearm was worn off by a prior owner (pictured), but aside from that it’s in phenomenal condition and would make an excellent addition to your safe.

*NO, I will not sell the mags separate unless the buyer of the rifle does not want them!*

I’m asking $2550 $2500 $2400 $2300 $2250 shipped and insured for the entire package from me as a private individual to your FFL. Add another $50 if I need to ship from an FFL, or subtract $100 for local Indiana sales (near Tippecanoe County). I’ll consider reasonable offers, but I’m not desperate for a quick sale so please save those lowballs offers for someone else. ;). The 10rnd mags go for ~$65-70/ea or so, and the 5rnd usually go for ~$50. The TBM comes with one 5rnd and one 10rnd, so I have an additional ~$490 in mags here, setting you up for life on mags!

No trades please, I’m making some big changes due to health stuff and have a specific path forward from here that’s too complicated to get involved with trades.

Payment to be made via USPS MO or Zelle. I’ll also accept a personal check if you’re OK waiting for it to clear before I ship. No PayPal, no Venmo. I realize this is an expensive item, so I’m absolutely happy to call and speak with you directly. My feedback is extensive both here and elsewhere, but whatever I can to do help you be confident in your purchase, I’ll try my best to do. *To help cut out scammers, YOU MUST PM ME FIRST! Again for those in the back, YOU MUST PM ME FIRST!* Any questions, just ask me. Thanks!

TheHide.TV Episode One of the Everyday Sniper Podcast

New Season, new start to the podcast,

I was damaging controlling why the Live Stream feeds were crashing on Facebook and X and I missed a bunch of episodes. Now we are ready to return with the weekly show. We'll have new guests coming up really soon.

Welcome to the Everyday Sniper Podcast, yes the music got overwritten so I wasn't about to play it. I thought I had this sorted out but apparently I missed something. Damn Updates !

In this episode I want to catch you up as to why I missed a few episode over the last month or so. I was actually damage controlling the video for simulcasting to other places. I can send this Sniper's Hide and TheHide.TV easy enough, but the signal was crashing.

In this episode I talk,

Going Live with Training & Firearms

Western Hunter Ultimate Challenge Match

Future Interviews on the way.

Gear reviews, We have the Eotech Vudu 3-9x here along with a host of other products to talk about.

6mm Arc Project !

Thanks for the patience of me getting my shit together. It was a process and I had to follow the process to try and keep things stable. I feel I am stable now, other than potential conflicts with my home internet.

Bipod on shooting mat?

Hello,
I was watching a video on YouTube and there were several prone shooters, shooting 1000 yards, that were using what appeared to be a padded shooting mat and their bipod was setup in the mat. Very new precision shooter here and to me that seemed less stable than using the ground. They looked to cant to me as the bipod wobbled on padding. What is best placement of the bipod when using a padded mat?

Thank you,
Dep

l thingsTrump admin actions?

this could go in the Ukraine thread but it goes to my more gen ? i know it is early in the trump admin, that there are many huge probs he inherited,i know he is getting insane push back from the left. i still have a concern about several things, this being 1. Putin has said no temp cease fires only some final result on acceptable terms to him. that makes sense in context here.
IMHO any aid to Ukraine at all should be stopped now and forever. resuming mil and intel aid seems like a red flag waved at Russia. can't see how this aids a peace deal. we should stop all aid and offer to broker a deal-nothing else.
of course all "aid" should be stopped going everywhere. we are way more than broke. we need funding here, which is a separate discussion. RFK backing off on MMR vaccine is another ? i have.
grabbing a few thousand illegals is under achievement i think. i have lost a lot of confidence in many of his chosen helpers.
it just appears that many campaign commitments to action have gotten sluggish.
is this being unrealistic and hoping to see too much sooner than possible? yea,i know my concerns are of no importance to the rulers.

4 Facts that De-bunk the Trump-Russia Narrative

The Dems, Marxists, and Never-Trumpers are on this boat claiming Trump is doing Putin’s bidding. It’s almost hilarious when you consider these brutal harsh facts about Trump’s actual conduct towards Putin and Russia:

1. Trump unleashing of US energy dominance and cheap pricing to fuel the US economy. This wasn’t done to hurt anyone else, just help the US. As a result, it sent the WTI into 1/4th of what it needs to be for Russian GDP growth. This was probably the most damaging thing Trump did in his first 4 years to Russia’s oil/NG-dependent economy.

2. Battle of Khasham, Feb 2018, Syria. Putin sent a Russian Wagner-led armored battle group with 2 armored battalions, artillery support, air support, and engineers to attack a tiny group of US SOF personnel at the Conoco plant near Khasham, which was across the river and well-past Russia’s line of demarcation agreed upon by the US and Russia. Trump WH responded by authorized total gloves-off annihilation of the Russian forces over a 6hr period through the night, resulting in scores of Russian Wagner mercy KIA, and scores of Syrians killed. No US President has ever taken the gloves off of US forces in any potential conflict between Russians and US personnel.

3. Just in case Putin didn’t get the message, Trump signed off on massive foreign military sales to Ukraine that they paid for, including huge shipments of Javelin Anti-Tank Guided Missiles and CLUs, as well as patrol boats and associated weapons. The Javelin ATGMs sent by Trump were crucial in stopping Putin’s armored columns later in 2022. No other US President authorized weapons sales to Ukraine, and in fact, several worked hard to stop European allies from sending weapons even when they wanted to. Example: Obama and David Cameron in Sep., 2014.

4. Trump shut down German involvement with Putin’s Nordtream 2, threatening enactment of the National Defense Authorization Act in 2019. This hurt Russia’s energy industry and helped to prevent Europe from being even further-beholden to Russian oil/NG exports than they already were.

US energy focus, Khasham, Javelins to Ukraine, and Nordstream 2 shut down. All some of the most effective counter-Russian foreign policy moves from a US President in history. It’s weird that no corporate US media covers any of these facts.

Which suppressor? Magnus or Flow 7.62

Hide,

I have a handful of ARs, but looking for which of my two suppressors to put on a .300 Blackout 8.5 inch. I have a TBAC Magnus I run on my bolt guns, and a Huxwrx Flow 7.62 TI that I run on my ARs. However, I have an 8.5 inch AR pistol with a brace/JP captured buffer and adjustable gas block and I’m not sure what to run. It seems the hux may not perform as well with subsonics, so I’m wondering whether I should throw the Magnus on and adjust the gas down.

I could experiment a bit, but figured I’d come to folks with more experience. Rig has a 1x red dot and would just be mostly plinking and some transition drills.

Thanks in advance.

Gen 2 PST 3-15x44 with the EBR-2D reticle(which was only available for a limited time through certain vendors I believe). Mounted on a 18” AR for midrange work and has been great in that role. Im turning this upper into a designated thermal upper so im looking to recoup some funds. Its in a Warne 20moa mount and would like to sell it together for $500 shipped but will split if I have too. Glass is clean and the only marks on the scope are on the battery cap and elevation turret from using a coin to remove the caps. Feel free to message me for more details.
