GPO Rangeguide quality?

Hey all, can't seem to find a while lot on the GPO Rangeguide series LRF Binos, so looking for thoughts on them. Found a set (10x40) with a *really* good pricetag and considering jumping on them. Uses are mostly NRL, and I have no need for onboard ballistics software since I run an armboard with hard data (read, I would rather the money I spend be on clear glass and a fast laser than on AB+). AB is awesome but I'm not made of money and it's expensive.

The warranty is also certainly a factor, since GPO says it's an unlimited lifetime for the unit, unlike some that only warranty electronics for a few years.

Thanks in advance!

This has the feel of a vendetta , not just a political disagreement

Holy shit - if this turns out to be random I’d be surprised.
Gotta have a lot of hate to make someone a human torch in front of witnesses

Australian Rocket goes the wrong way.... Well obviously!

After their miserable failure to take over the world of breakdancing... Australia's first attempt to launch a rocket has worked out just as well.

Well obviously! They had it pointing the wrong way! Heck of a Barbie, though!

Well, they'll be back.

Oh and, that's not a rocket... THIS is a rocket!

Gunsmithing Mauser M18 Barrel Specs

I pulled one to thread for a can. Interesting design. The barrel doesn’t have a shoulder. It indexes on the back of the barrel in front of the locking lugs.

I used a Remington 700 action wrench but be careful with that. The receiver is a C hair larger in diameter. I lined with some drywall seam paper and it still left a small beauty mark on the receiver. I lined the jaws up so it’d be on the top and bottom and will be hidden by the stock and scope mount. Came off with very little effort. No hammer, no cheater. Just my two hands

Metric threads. M28x1 RH
Thread tenon is 31.34mm long
Deep counterbore is 10.38mm deep. I neglected to measure the counterbore diameter. Sorry boys.

Muzzle was threaded 9/16-24.

Optics/vision folks - Are my eyes just effed up?

Maybe @koshkin or someone similar would know more about this - When setting the diopter on all of my riflescopes, i always end up with it screwed in all the way to get the best outcome. With spotting scopes and binos i always need to have the eye cups screwed all the way in to get my eye close enough for the best image. It commonly seems like i'd be even better if a diopter would go in even more or my eyes could get even closer on binos or spotting scopes. This seems to be an unusual thing? I cant imagine being able to use binos/spotters with glasses.

Do i have jacked up/unusual vision? Anyone else?

SOLD French MAS 49/56 MSE Sniper with APX L806 scope REDUCED $2300

SOLD Snipers Hiders get first shot at this copy of a French MAS 49/56 MSE Sniper rifle, caliber 7.5 French, with original APX L806 scope, case, brush, wrench, 4 extra magazines, and magazine pouches. This is a copy of the French MSE:

The MSE (Modified St Etienne) version of the MAS 49-56 was developed specifically for international competition shooting by French military teams. The standard MAS 49-56 service rifle was much more of a combat weapon than a target rifle, and the MSE improved several of its shortcomings in that arena. Most significantly, it added a longer stock and a proper pistol grip to improve handling. The MSE also has a substantially improved trigger and iron sights with much finer adjustments that the standard rifle. These elements were combined as a kit of upgrade parts to be dropped onto a regular 49-56; the MSE was not made as a complete new rifle. Only some 900 were originally made.

This copy uses an excellent condition French Mas 49/56 action in the original 7.5 French caliber. I imported this stock from France and it may be original old stock. It comes with the removable cheek piece and butt spacers. The scope is an original French APX L806 with the original case, brush and wrench. The scope is in excellent shape with clear optics. Four extra magazines ae included, along with two double magazine pouches. $2300 shipped to your FFL, C&R OK.

Gov. Hochul Claims Concealed Carry Permit Allowed Manhattan Shooter to Have AR-15

CLAIM: During a gun control rant on CNN’s Inside Politics, Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) noted the alleged Manhattan shooter had a concealed carry permit and claimed the permit allowed him to have an AR-15.
VERDICT: False. Having a concealed carry permit centers on the carrying of handguns for self-defense, not rifles.
Moreover, having a concealed carry permit does not allow a visitor to ignore the laws of a state to which they travel. The alleged Manhattan shooter had driven across the country to New York, and in New York there is a prohibition against guns which Democrats refer to as “assault weapons.”
To take it even further, even if having a concealed carry permit pertained to rifles–which it does not–New York does not recognize the concealed carry permit from any of the other 49 states, according to USCCA.
Additionally, as news of Monday’s shooting broke on Breitbart News, we noted that Mike Bloomberg-affiliated Everytown for Gun Safety ranks New York as No. 4 in the country for stringent gun control, in part because the state bans “assault weapons.” Nevertheless, the alleged attacker used an AR-platform rifle in Manhattan, the very kind of rifle that Democrats refer to “assault weapons.”
Although New York’s “assault weapons” ban failed to prevent the Manhattan attack, Hochul made clear she believes such a ban on a national level would equate to being “tough on crime.”
Similar claims were made by Democrats during the Clinton administration.
On September 13, 1994, the New York Times ran a column explaining that the very term “assault weapon” was one that “Democrats created” in the 1990s in order to ban “a politically defined category of guns.” The NYT noted there was “a spike in gun crime,” so 1990s Democrats found something they could ban in order to allow themselves to appear to be fighting crime.
Same song, different verse.

Xeno compatible brakes?

Hey all,
So I'm going with a Xeno setup for my first centerfire can. I already have DA Xeno FHs on my SBRs. I'm looking for some brakes to put on my bolt guns. I like the DA brake for the lack of a need for timing etc. That being said, it doesn't seem to be that functional as an actual brake. How does the Forward Controls Design compare? The DA wee brake? LMT regulator SP?

Are there any concerns in having to use shims on a suppressor mount?

Total noob here.
