Which Shot Timer

Looking into upgrading my shot timer. I currently have a CED7000 shot timer that is many years only. Looking at upgrading to either the Kestrel KST1000 or the Shooters Global SG Timer 2. Which one is the better choice. I'm kinda surprised Garmin has not yet dropped a shot timer with their dive into the shooting sports. Thoughts on the KST1000 and SG Timer 2?

7mm SAUM AR

You may be asking, "why?!" I asked myself that question as well, honestly. I had a hard time answering it too. I guess it just fits in the 'unique' moderately useful rifle category. Some of you picky folks might call me out for calling this an AR10 and not an LR308, but for the sake of easy description, we're going to use AR10.

I have officially assembled a 7mm SAUM AR10. This whole thing started when I found an Aero M5 lower on sale for $98... I had X-Caliber cut a 24" barrel, using a KAK magnum bolt that I sent them for proper headspacing. While the barrel was in queue, I started gathering parts. I used a KAK magnum bolt carrier group, as stated earlier, and a KAK magnum stripped upper. They essentially just mill a larger ejection port. It's a little bit cheesy though, because they mill it AFTER anodizing. I really don't care, as it'll probably get rattle-canned somewhere down the line anyway. I put an adjustable gas block on it, as well as a jp heavy scs. It should be (relatively) tunable to ensure proper function. I threw on a luth-ar fixed stock because it was one of the few I could find with adjustable comb.

Dimensions are just shy of 46" and 12.5 lb. My plan is to shoot it suppressed, so the actual dimensions while shooting will be in the lower 50s and around 14lb.

Why 7mm SAUM you ask? The SAUM line has piqued my interest for awhile, actually. And full disclosure, had I been able to find 300 SAUM brass, I'd probably have gone with that instead. I like the idea of having a semi-auto magnum... maybe it just sounds cooler than it really is, but oh well. It's definitely capable of taking any game in my local area, and if I want to shoot it long range, I can do that too. I think the 7mm is incredibly adaptable to whatever you want It's use to be. I have larue SR-25 mags that have a COAL limit of 2.870, and book COAL on 7mm SAUM is 2.825, so I have a little bit of room to play with for seating depth. Let me tell you, those little bastards ain't cheap! Consensus on accurate barrel life seems to be about 2000rds. I picked up 300 pcs of ADG 7mm SAUM brass, that will (hopefully) survive the life of the barrel. I figured 6 loadings should be ok, and I only need about 60% of them to last a 7th. Time will tell, I guess.

Let me know what you think. I only took one picture so far, so that's the one I put up with it, but if you want anything specific, don't be afraid to ask. And if you want a full build list, I can do that too. Might even be able to throw a price list together, if desired.

6mm ARC bolt gun for competition?

I’m trying to dig more info on possibly switching up to 6mm arc for a competition bolt gun. I’m currently set up with a 6 creedmoor on a Curtis vector switch barrel in a foundation stock. I have zero issues running this caliber just thinking ahead.

I’m about half way through this barrels life with about 850 rounds and thinking of going to a dasher or maybe even the 6 arc for my next barrel. My thought process stems from the current trend of shooting a “slower” 6mm for easier follow up/seeing trace/splash for correction.

Something from the 6BR family is an obvious possibility but I’m interested in the 6 arc too. I know it would require a new bolt and dedicated mags or a mag kit.

Certainly not as popular as the GT or the 6BR family crowd but I’m sure there are some people out there running them with success. What are the Pros/cons in your experience?

Brass seems like a weak point in my uneducated view. I actually like to reload so that’s the plan regardless of caliber. So choices seem like having to buy Hornady 6 arc ammo to reuse the brass or resize quality 6.5 Grendel brass. Not sure what issues arise from the latter.

Any insight into this would be appreciated. Thanks.

.223/.556 ammo recommendation

Hey guys, I have an AR-15 I'm setting up that will be dedicated to a mix of fun long range shooting and coyote hunting. I also have a scope that will be set up with custom turrets. So I kind of need to settle in on a desired round. It sounds like the vmax are preferred for coyote, but they're awful light. I'm just curious as I'm new to all this if there would be a better round that will do double duty? Maybe something that will be good and accurate at longer range and adequate for coyote. Thanks for the help guys.

This is what you get when you DEI the Bull-Fags into your organization.

Second time this guy has been suspended... How many times wasn't he caught?

This should be charged as rape, not simple assault.

This is what also happens when you state is a single-party leftist/communist un-American travesty... being ruled by a small urban, socialist elite. Which wants (and has built) its own Stasi. And when you hire shit who will do whatever told to keep their jobs, tolerate bad behavior, and make the career path undesireable for all but the most un-qualified candidates. And then promote for DEI instead of merit or competence. The whole organization needs to be dismantled and rebuilt from the bottom up. Too bad that the DoJ probably won't dig into it... They should!

Hope this guy likes buttsex as well as BJ's. Because he needs to go to the worst prison in Mass and get passed around until he dies...

SOLD l3 lwts clip on thermal

Used l3 lwts Purchased new and used a couple times a year, has one dead pixel zone that is visible when used as a clip on; solid and flexible unit.
$5000 or reasonable offer
L3Harris Light Weapon Thermal Sight (LWTS) is a handheld and weapon-mounted thermal weapon sight. The thermal imaging capability of the LWTS allows for long wave infrared observation and target identification under adverse conditions including light rain, smoke, light snow, and low light to total darkness. The LWTS utilizes leading edge 17 micron technology in a 640×480 uncooled microbolometer. The high resolution display, combined with state of the art image processing and electronics provide exceptional imagery and long mission run times on a single battery load. The LWTS is highly versatile, being able to deploy as a stand-alone thermal weapon scope or a clip-on thermal weapon sight in front of an existing day optic. As part of the current USSOCOM contract, the LWTS (AN/PAS-13G(V)1) is designed to integrate with weapon systems outfitted with other SOPMOD optics. It is rated as a short range clip on sight that works best with 1-4x optics such as the Aimpoint M68CCO (Comp M4s) and Trijicon ACOG. When paired with another day optic, the LWTS produces less than 2 MOA shift in point of impact. However, the LWTS can be used alone with its internal reticles. This gives operators extreme nighttime capability when paired with head-mounted night vision goggles. The LWTS is intended for light weapons utilizing the standard issue 5.56x45mm and 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge. The size and weight make it ideal for tactical small arms such as the FN SCAR-MK16/17, M4/M16, SR25, and other 5.56/7.62 platforms. The LWTS is powered by a removable battery cartridge loaded with four AA batteries. The system comes with a spare cartridge so that batteries can be changed quickly. It is optimized to provide the best image when paired with 4x magnification, but can be used with scopes up to 5-6x without much loss of image fidelity due to its native 640×512 sensor. This high resolution sensor provides incredibly crisp detail and shading for rich images and easier target identification. Another useful feature is the RS-170 Real Time Video In/Out for remote viewing when attached or detached from a weapon system. Export of Thermal Imaging Equipment or related accessories (such as manuals) is strictly regulated by the US Department of State in accordance with the guidelines of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). It is a major crime to ship or carry US manufactured thermal imaging devices outside the borders of the United States, punishable by fines and prison sentences. Ignorance of these regulations will not hold up in court.
Buyer pays shipping, item will only be shipped to a US address
