Suppressors Mount or direct thread?

I have a fair bit of experience shooting suppressed, but until recently, I've never felt compelled to own a suppressor. I've always thought that shooting suppressed was more of a pain in the butt than it was worth.

I have, however, reached the point where I'm thinking that it doesn't make sense not to invest in a few. In any case, I have a couple of them coming. The big question that I have bouncing around in my head now is the attachment method.

It was my intention to just go direct thread, but the YHM srx system seems pretty cool. In my research, I've run across comments made by reviewers wherein they noted that the choice of mounting system can affect the sound of the report to the extent that it can make the difference between the report being painful to the ear and not.

Have any of you experienced this?

Movie Theater Foundation Season 3 off to a good start…

Call me a geek, but I always enjoyed Isaac Asimov’s work, and reveled in this book series when I was growing up. Was very excited when Apple TV announced the adaptation onto film, but was extremely underwhelmed with season one. And while season two was more interesting, it was all over the place for production values and more disappointing for me, the plot lines simply got lost, or muddled at best.

Season 3, episode one just dropped though, and I’m more excited than ever! I thought it was really well done, and can’t stand that I have to wait a week for the next episode. LoL

Hope it stays on this course…finger’s crossed!

700 PSS??

Haven’t made my mind up on keeping or selling this rifle. Just trying to get some additional information. This, to my knowledge is a 700 PSS from 1996. It has D prefix serial number. The thing throwing me off is the detachable mag. I’ve seen several pictures of others, said to be PSS, but all of them had standard plates on the bottom. Some of the ones I’ve seen are older posts on here. Was this detachable mag an option or what? Any info is appreciated. I might add this rifle has seen very little use based on its condition. Thanks.

Suppressors Suppressor transfers in the no tax stamp era

Before buying suppressors, I set up a gun trust but I never used it. When Form 4 Individual applications were being turned around in less than 48 hours, that is the path I took. My rationale was that it is only me, myself, and I using them. I have them bequeathed in my will with Form 5 no-tax transfers pre-filled for the beneficiaries.

Once the fee is gone, I may transfer them from my as an individual to my trust. (I refuse to pay the gubbermint twice.) I assume it will be a Form 4 transfer. I wouldn't care how long it takes to process because I already have them. It may be irrelevant if GOA succeeds with its suit. Since it is still an NFA item, the trust just makes it a little easier to share with friends and family if I ever get less selfish. ;-)

Is anyone else thinking about this? Is it worth even bothering?

308 scar 17 loads in 2025

Have looked over various forums and posts and most data seems to be from 2010-2016 with older projectiles, some of which are not as readily available now. Many of the powders were also more readily available and didn't quite cost as much then.

For those of you who still shoot a S17 (standard 16" barrel), what projectiles + powders are you using now?

Looking at N140, A2520, and Ramshot Tac for 165-168gr projectiles (including 168 SMK) and the Federal Fusion 150gr (factory load showed promise) projectile. Trying to keep "theoretical" peak pressure per GRT at 55k PSI. Not interested in Varget, IMR4064, or H4895/IMR4895 here for something I'm mostly using as a blaster. Anything other projectiles or powders I should be aware of?

Hey! Bear Pit! Do a trick!

You pricks are boring me to pieces lately.

Someone go rent a Lambo and dangle a sammich in front of some starving coloreds and post us pictures.

Bench press buckets of concrete hung on the limbs of your bow.

We need a community gathering at the whipping post.

You old hats are losing your touch. (The ones the little fella hasn’t ban hammered yet to pave the way for all these AWESOME new dolts, window lickers, askholes, novelists, and scammers.)

Which 300 Blackout barrel between these two?

Between these two, which would you choose? Will shoot 110gr all the way up to 220gr so the 1:8 twist Rainier, I don't know how it would do.

New from CO

Just now working on getting myself a competition rifle after many years of shooting. Hopefully going to be able to take advantage of some scope deals on here but it seems like I can't PM anyway so I'm a little dispirited. Especially after having to wait for mod approval already and the listing was taken down before my attempted contact went through. Can't say I feel welcome.
