They've happened a few times

At friends apartment at college. Just bought my first pistol from a gun show (I was 18) Drinking with friends Show them my new Sig P320 ND into celling Upstairs neighbors too high and drunk (underage and illegal drugs) to call the police.

Second time
At range Showing friend pistol Think gun is unloaded Point at ground show him how to wrack and pull the trigger. Forgot loaded mag in Shoot between his feet

Third time
At parents house. Just bought another P320 from a guy Get home Try swapping slides with another sig I had Forgot the other sig slide was chambered. Pull trigger Shoot parents wall

Fourth time
At my new house Playing with a friend's P320 Legion Release wlide Slam fires round into ground

Fifth time
Showing a friend how to use it No idea how but a round got chambered Show him how the trigger works, Pull trigger Shoots round into floor in the same place as before

Sixth time
Thought maybe the house was haunted Grab a sig Physically clear it, (racked the slide 3 times) with no magazine in pull trigger at the same hole
Round goes off

Seventh time
Friend brings over a used P320 wants me to look over it I grab it and pull the trigger without clearing it Didn't even realize the thing was loaded.

Eighth time
Friend brings over his police trade in 320 He's showing it off to me I put a loaded mag it and decided to try and release the slide Pulled the trigger for some reason a round into my wall

Overall you shouldn't feel too bad about NDs. It's part of owning guns, and you should get used to them.

Ok, here it goes. I am getting into the 300 NM game. I have some redding bushing dies already that are sized for 308, I have several bushings for that caliber. Is it logical to think that I can use those bushings in the 300 NM bushing die, are they translateable from 30cal die to 30cal die is the question?

So I’ve got an older Tikka T3 in 7mm08. I’d like to try some longer range shooting with it and think a heavier profile barrel would work better for extended range sessions. The barrel gets so hot after only a few 3-shot groups.

Would it be feasible to get a prefit barrel installed and drop the factory plastic stock for something more substantial?

Don’t think I’m up for trying this myself after reading many threads about how tight the factory barrels are torqued.

Any suggestions on who I might use to swap out the barrel?

After obtaining my license in Alberta, Canada at the age of 60 I debated the decision of bolt action rifle choice. After many months I choose a Tikka T3X Lite in 30-06 caliber. I mounted a Burris scope and went to my local range 2 minutes from my home hoping to align the scope with the gun.

I shot a box of 20 federal 150 grain cartridges in an attempt to achieve this goal. This is my first time shooting and definitely will not be my last as I want to become very proficient with this rifle. There are cast concrete tables that accommodate both right and left handed shooters plus the range provides automotive scissor jack with carpet for the front of the stock to rest on.

I shot the box of 20 at the target attached at 50 yds and some others at 100 and 150 but those targets were not mine so I left them. I had to adjust 3.5 higher and 3 to the right before I was able to get the grouping near the bullseye. I had problems with keeping the target steady and a day later have decided to get a better butt pad or another alternative as shoulder is tender where the rifle recoil hit.

I am open to all criticism and tips and after joining I found the new member sticky. Have at it gents.

Yes, I'm new to the community but have been in the precision rifle game for a long time. Typically I build my own rifles, but lacking time I recently bought a Bergara HMR in 7 PRC and cannot get this damn this to shoot better than 1.5 MOA, most groups are 2.5MOA +. I've tried three different factory loads and 12 different hand loads. So far, the best load I've found was a 150 gr ELD-X. Before anyone asks, I've already checked the torque on the action screws, touched up the muzzle crown (11 degrees), checked the diameter of the exit hole on the muzzle brake (no signs of copper or muzzle strike), torqued and loctited the scope mount screws, and I'm running a Nightforce NX8 4-32. All the easy stuff has been verified, however, I haven't slugged the bore yet. Is anyone else having similar issues?

I just picked up my AI AXSR today in 300 Norma Magnum and as was fitting various components I noticed the muzzle brake ports were not horizontally aligned. I would think it would leave the factory correctly setup, but this seems odd to me. While an easy fix I was wondering if Accuracy International mounted the brake this way intentionally.

I just bought the Sig cross sawtooth in 7PRC. Love the gun, hate the angle of the grip. Does anyone know if they make an aftermarket grip for that? It looks like it might just be a regular AR grip, but I could be wrong. Thanks!

I have been doing more testing and toying with 308.

I have been using Alpha small rifle primer brass and CCI 450 small rifle magnum primers.

Rifleis a Zermatt Origin with 20" PVA M24 profile 1:10 twist.

MDT ACC Chassis.

My goal was 3000ft lbs of energy at the muzzle. This was due to a conversation I had with a buddy who just came back from a Safari. The company had a 3000ft lbs, at the muzzle, requirement for any rifle used for plains game. He took a 300wsm.

Powders were Varget and Power Pro 2000mr.

These loads are above book max but showed no pressure signs. I annealed every other firing. I worked the book pressure loads up using annealed starline srp brass.

I forgot to get pictures of the varget loads.

#1- Averaged 2605fps and .30" 5 shot group (No pressure Signs)

#2- Averaged 2614fps and .65" 5 shot group (No Pressure Signs)

#3- Averaged 2627fps and .88" 5 shot group (Very faint ejector mark)

#4- Averaged 2635fps and .55" 5 shot group (Again faint ejector mark, easy bolt lift)

#5- Averaged 2644fps and .23" 5 shot group (Ejector mark and at the very top of the bolt lift it was mildly sticky at the very top)

Power Pro 2000mr was a little lacking in the velocity dept.

My max load of 46.6 grains topped out at 2635 but should have been faster. My thought is that I am not getting complete powder burn. I found some partially burnt kernals in the barrel

The 46 grain load was absurdly accurate and had an average velocity of 2615.

My 1moa sticker fell off the hole it was covering so I just shot at the hole.

Unfortunately right now I have other priorities to tend to so my prs rimfire rifle is on the block. Action was bought in 2021 and has roughly 30k rounds on it but runs flawlessly. Barrel is a 23 inch Krieger 1-16 with a custom contour close to a MTU threaded with a EC Tuner v1 I’ve had for over 2 years, it loves center x 28xxx. Trigger is a Triggertech primary at about 2 lbs. Chassis is a MDT ACC Elite with 3 bridges, black jellies and 1 internal chassis weight. Most of all chassis bolt heads were sprayed with matte black rustoleum. Comes with a bunch of spare parts and 2 mags (pictured)
