Tonneau covers that allow tool chest access.

Recently got a new truck, and would like a Tonneau cover for it. It needs to alllw access to a chest style tool box. UWS makes a notched chest that accomidates most folding styles,so I'm toing with that for the box.
What brands make a good product? I'd like it to offer full rain protection, and something with durable handles/latches.

Seeing Gator, Bakflip and Tonno mentioned a good deal.

Accessories FS: Manners T6A SA R700 Mini Chasis Price Drop

I bought this back in 2017 and shot 2 PRS club matches that year and have only taken this sporadically to the range since. Sponge camo job I did myself. Includes Area419 arca rail, barricade stop, and appropriate spacer. Ran it flawlessly with my TL3 short action. I’m using a full chasis setup now and can’t justify keeping it.

$1000 $950 shipped, not looking for trades at the moment

Marine Scout Sniper Heritage Foundation - Fundraiser Event - Request for Info

Howdy Y'all!

I would like to organize a fundraising event for the MSSHF in Tx. I would like to inquire for advice/tips from those of you who participate with the MSSHF or have previously hosted fundraisers for them. Any of you in Tx who would like to help or create a small team to organize the event, feel free to comment or DM me.

I will of course reach out to the MSSHF first before officially organizing the event, but this is more to gather information and tips to better understand what has been required or done before for this type of event. As well as create a discussion thread for any other members or organizations to use for their own events.

My event plan thus far is below, feel free to pitch ideas or recommendations:
  • Event location: San Antonio / Dallas / College Station / Houston
  • Ticket/Registration Event
    • Combines all Gun Range, food costs, plus a flat donation to the MSSHF
      • BBQ Catering or Food Trucks
    • Raffle Tickets purchased separately (if donations are given / all proceeds go to MSSHF)
  • Gun Range: Pistol and Rifle Competition, and USMC Pistol and Rifle exhibition (service-issued and replicas welcomed)
    • A Place To Shoot
    • Texas Gun Ranch
    • CCC Shooting Complex
    • The Ranch Tx Club
    • American Shooting Center
  • Raffle Event (preferred donations of USMC related Memorabilia, Rifle and Pistol Parts, Accessories, Clothing, Insignia, Coins, Documents)
  • Commemorative Ceremony
    • Former and active-duty Marine Scout Snipers (including MOS 0322)
    • Honorary mention of and prayer over all former and active-duty Military and Law-Enforcement Members
    • Speech/Event Outro from a representative or board-member from the MSHHF
If this event agenda goes well, my goal would be to make it an annual event, potentially changing between ranges to diversify the event reach. For any other interested parties or members of the MSSHF that like this idea/agenda, feel free to use it, it's for y'alls benefit.

For any other organization or business that owns a shooting range, and wasn't mentioned above, feel free to reach out if interested in hosting, sponsoring, or donating gift certificates for classes or services. I am thinking that 300yds - 500yds would be ideal for the rifles, outdoor preferably, but I am option to any and all those who offer to host, thanks in advance!

Shortening .22 Rifle Barrel...Any Down Side?

I'm afraid I'm going to start an argument, but anyway...is there any good reason not to shorten a Savage A22 from 22 inches to 16.25 and thread it for a silencer?

My understanding is that velocity pretty much tops out at around 16", so it's not clear what the other 6 inches are for. Shortening the barrel would compensate for the added length of the can, and it would make the barrel more rigid, possibly improving the accuracy a little.

I have read that a long sight radius gives better accuracy, but it kind of sounds like a load to me. When I use a scope, the sight radius is only a few inches, and I get better accuracy than I would with iron sights. The scope can't tell a short rifle from a long one. It will work on either.

Seems to me the problem is fat sights combined with a short sight radius. Fat open sights are harder to use accurately, at least for me. Seems to me I could change the open sights to compensate for a short barrel. And I probably wouldn't use them anyway.

I am trying to be better about killing squirrels in my yard. They have cost me a fortune, and it's time to take the gloves off. I plan to kill them whenever I get the chance, and it would be nice to do it without ear muffs or a 4-foot-long rifle.

Since this is a cheap gun, I would like to do the work myself, but it looks like it's complicated. I would have to turn between centers because my lathe is so big, and I am not sure how to get the bore concentric with the spindle. I am reading up. Apparently, you can't just shove a live center into the muzzle.

I would also like to reattach the front sight, so I would have to drill and tap two holes in the finished barrel.
