action help

i'm trying to find out what's required to use a longer cartridge in a long action receiver for 3.850" mags. from some understanding the bolt stop needs to be changed to accommodate for a 4"+ oal. does the port need to be opened up also? then there's the bottom medal and stock fitment for the change or just a chassis or stock that accepts said length(s). so far i'm just looking at bolt faces of .590" and maybe larger diameter wise in .640 or .810" range. not specific on which cartridge will be used for now?

My wife just got me a new Dillon 550c as a gift. Defiantly no input from me hahaha.

I plan to make a video series on my journey with this press exploring some of the different methods people have been using to get single stage accuracy out of their progressive presses.

So out of curiosity, those of you who have been down this road before... what have you found to give the greatest improvement in accuracy (at the bench and on paper) over the stock press. If you could attempt to give it a % value based on increased accuracy or decreased group size. What would it be?

I plan on testing as many methods and modifications as I can and ranking them based on my results but I'd like to see what the opinion of the hide was before I started.

Spotters Leupold Mark 4 20-60x80 Mounting Question

Gentlemen, I have used a Leupold Mark 4 12-40 for years now and have also been using the KDG Optics case with it. I am in the market for the larger Mark 4 20-60 and I am curious about the mounting bar on the bottom.

Since I don't own the larger 20-60 I am wondering if anyone here that has one can measure the height of the spotter, from the base plate that looks like a rail to the top of the spotter. The KDG case has to slide in and from pictures online it looks like the 20-60 has a larger height than the 12-40 due to the rail looking bar on the bottom. They are both using the same housing and I called Leupold to ask them and they didn't have the measurements.

Also, is the rail mounting plate on the 20-60 removable and does it have to be used, or can I just take it off and slide the KDG case onto it and mount it like the smaller 12-40.

Any help and pictures appreciated. Thanks

Guardian Long Range - 2025 Match Schedule

Our first match of the year at Colemans Creek in North Carolina was a big success.

We'll be at Carl Taylor's again in Colville, Washington May 17-18
Cameo/ Grand Junction, CO Aug 16-17
Marksmanship Training Center in Lake City, MI Sept 6-7
and finishing the year at Arena in Blakely, GA Oct 25-26.

https://practiscore.com/clubs/guardian_long_range_competition

All Guardian matches this year will be the regular Guardian format. Individual match on Saturday. Dinner, awards, raffle table, and mission discussion Saturday night. Sunday we'll pair up shooters based on how they did on Saturday and shoot very similar stages in a team format. Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions or to schedule some time to discuss what we've got going on.

Its more than a match - It's a mission! -and we're looking to support our mission through non-Guardian matches again this year too.

Swiss K31 Sniper Build

So I recently built a kinda sporterized K31 target rifle (don’t worry, i bought all parts separately, so no K31 where hurt). Last saturday I got to test it and shot a 0.5 MOA group at 300m. Now i kinda want to put a scope on it. The scope should be from the 30s to 60, maximum 1 inch in diameter, shouldn’t have an objective bell and a minimum of 3.5x magnification. I want to mount it with a custom mount to the 11mm rail (where the diopter is mounted now) on the left side of the receiver. Any recommendations?

Replace AICS Spigot with Rail

Hey guys, a while ago there was a guy on here that was machining a new insert for the front of an AICS Chassis to replace the spigot receiver with a rail section that extended out a few inches.

Anyone have a link? I can’t seem to find it.

My spigot has a little play that is driving me nuts. Also, not interested in the Big Dog mount. I want the unit that requires you drive the pins out and replace the entire piece. Thanks.
