I have read the existing threads I can find on this 3-18, they seem to peeter out sometime last year. Who out there has some time behind one? How are they doing as far as tracking, reliability, etc? The form factor is what I am looking for and I have always been a big DMR fan but damn the DMR3 is too heavy for whaI I am doing.

If anyone has owned both how does the 3-18 compare to the 5-25?

General thoughts are also welcome from those who have actually used these scopes. Thank you

I finally mounted my NF scope on a GG&G scope base w integral rings and I think something isn't right.

I torqued the screws per spec but look at the gap all around on the the rings. I assumed that there would be no gap.
If you have one of these QD mounts please post pics of your assembled mount.

I threw this up a few days ago in the Bolt Action section. I wished I'd of listed it here as I failed to realize SH has a section devoted to this stuff. A friend gave me one of these original bases to reproduce. I ran the artifact piece through the metrology lab and was able to replicate everything.

I made an initial run of 20 pieces. They came off the mill earlier today and are in the tumbler now. Last thing to do is blast finish them, box em up, and send them off to the ano shop.

Mine came in today, so I went to the range and picked it up. Had to test it out, so I took the Mask HD with me, and put 100 CCI SV’s through it, and it ran perfect. No sights, and was hitting challenge tree gongs at 10 yards about 5/10 times. Not a great ratio, but considering this thing doesn’t even have iron sights on it, not bad for instinctual shooting.

I have a new chamber reamer coming, and rather than burying it in a brand new $800 barrel right off the rip, I need to cut a new test chamber.

I just started watching this on Prime. Not sure I'll get too far in. Between the 5 minute and 10 minute mark, there are 2 snipers approaching the friendly camp. The first view of them has the scope on one of their rifles mounted pointing upward at about 35 degrees. The next time I saw a brief glimpse of the gun, it looked to be pointed downward at about 35 degrees. The 3rd shot of it as he is handing the rifle off to his partner has the scope mounted sideways about 35 degrees! WTF? It must be on a ball-head mount, lol, and it looks like it's on an air rifle... I can't imagine its going to get much better..

After doing some research, I purchased an Oryx chassis for my Savage model 12. I already knew that I'd need to add a QD mount to the side of the fore end, but everything I had watched, seen, or read indicated the chassis came with a QD receiver cup installed on both sides of the butt stock. When my chassis arrived, it did not have one so now I'm stuck cobbling something together for it. I contacted MTD through their website and never received a response. So here I am begging for suggestions so I have a decent way to pack my rifle across the prairie next month while laying waste to some pdogs.

Action is a Zermatt Origin with a fancy Proof rollmark. Has a 20MOA rail. Barrel is a Proof 24" Sendero lite. Trigger is a Timney Elite Hunter. Action and barrel have 15 rounds on it. Don't have an action wrench so I won't break it down further. Stock not included.

I'm going to be running a 103-108-109 grain ELDX /ELDM out of a 22" 7.5 twist carbon proof. (BOLT GUN)

My goal is a stout load to make high 2900 to low 3000 FPS. I hoping to find a fast accuracy node. I'm not sure I can make 3100 safely.

What brass, what powder should I start with? Isn't there a small primer variety out there too?
