I have a few PU Snipers I will be putting up for sale. It would be more desirable to go with FTF transactions, but I am not averse to shipping interstate with any rules followed. The question is what to do about packing material?

I measure the weights and dims to be roughly 49"x9"x4" @ 10lbs. I found a site that sells foam lined rifle boxes :

A couple look like they may do the job but still concerned about how tight will be safe to ship.
- Long Rifle Box (foam-lined) 50" x 9-1/4" x 3-5/8"
- Musket Box 56-3/4" x 10-5/8" x 5-1/4"

Ideally I wouldn't mind providing an "affordable” hard-shell case but could get spendy. Anyone have any advice or experience to share on this topic?

So had to turn in my issued helmet a while back. I need a night vision mount. Halo isn't that comfortable. Tempted to just run a bump helmet but I realize there are a LOT of dirt cheap claiming to be ballistic helmets like sub $200 wow the markets changed. Did the process lower the price that much or are they total junk. Heck team Wendy bumps are only $300 ish. So where do I start? No need for coms really just some good noise reducing active muffs and an nvg mount.

Anyone try House of Payne (HOP) Munitions? They seem to have some decent prices on ammo. Looks like they sell ammo and reloading components. Looks like they produce in Ohio and are vet owned. Are they good to go?

I'm not sure how I feel about it. I need to get some ammo for it and see how it shoots.

It's definitely cobbled together...
After doing some digging and pulling it apart. It's a Chinese mauser. Have to pull the scope mount off to see what year it was made.



After I took the scope off. I found that the weaver rails are literally just epoxied onto the receiver. So I guess that's nice that it isn't D&T.

Barrel is spot welded to the reciever..


Thankfully I didn't pay anything other than about an hour of my time moving firewood.

Story goes buddy bought it thinking it was a pre64 winny in 22-250. Buys it for 375 and it turns out it's a 220 swift Chinese mauser.

I'm gonna grab a box of ammo and sight it in for shits and giggles. Probably cut the spot weld and pull the barrel. When cleaning it I could see the stamping of barrel maker on the barrel face.

Pretty sure it was made in a garage with a Dremel but we'll see.


What does a guy do with a rough mauser action??
