Long story short:
I'm looking for a medium weight 20" 1/7 twist quality AR barrel and they don't seem to exist.
Normally the answer is turn key WOA, Craddock, or CLE [RIP], but not this time.
What are the options out there?

Details:
I'm building a general purpose 20" AR in 5.56/.223 that needs to be usable [weight wise] in the field. But it also needs to be accurate and able to shoot groups without heating up too quickly.
I'm going for something like an accurized M16A5 concept or lightweight SAM-R... So no flutes.

Criteria:
I need the barrel to be match quality, be under 2.75lbs, have a .750 gas block diameter, and I'd prefer 1/7 twist.
Everything I can find seems to compromise on one or more of my criteria.

This Lilja looks like the closest thing I can find, but I'll have to accept the 1/8 twist, which should be fine for 77gr pills, but I'd prefer 1/7. Also, it's a premium.

What else is there?

Hey gents,

Have any of you guys made a form 1 suppressor for their M110? To add, is there anywhere to get the dimensional data for the gate latch assembly?
I know Griffin makes an option for the M110, but I spoke with them and they’re still a year out or so before having theirs back in stock.
I have the machining tools to make a form 1 can, but struggling so far on critical dimensional information.

Brand new AR10 308. V7 Harbinger. Gun is super nice and lightweight which is why i bought it etc. i wish the guys were still open i'd call them Joel is awesome.

3 quick questions as i was running some rounds through it today and tuning the AGB.

I've shot it about 50rds.

1. Typically i close the gas block and put one round in the mag... Shoot and open AGB 1 click at a time until it locks back then give it one more click... Is 1 click sufficient or should i go 2... At perfect lockback its ejecting about 3 o'clock. 1 click past its shooting about 1:30-2???

OK 2 things out of the normal are happening to me see below...

1. About 3-4 times while adjusting it would not cycle at all and the shelf was stuck in the chamber... It was about all the muscle i had to pull the charging handle back to get the round out, man it was stuck like realllyyy bad, thought i was gonna break something pulling then it would pop out... What am i doing wrong here? Shooting brand new PMC FMJ 150g ammo by the way, no reloads, and it also did it once with a barnes "reduced recoil" that i was trying for my daughter. so two different ammos this happened to.

2. Also Maybe 3-4 out of 50rds the charging handle maybe somewhat close to the last round in the mag if not sometimes the last,,, the charging handle pops loose and slaps me in the nose a bit. Not horribly bad but enough to make you flinch when it does it.... Should i look at something or take a picture of where its locking down? Ive not experieced this before on my other guns. Only thing i noticed on inspection was a lot of oil coming out of the gun in the charging handle area,,, so i just wiped that down really good and will go from there.

I understand the party line is that upper to lower fitment on an AR rifle doesn’t effect accuracy.

However, has anyone ever tested this?

I am envisioning someone who isn’t me taking an AR and installing the smallest takedown pins possible, to maximize rattle between the upper and lower, testing the accuracy, then installing the largest pins possible to minimize rattle, and shooting the same course of fire, and noting the results.

Or some other similar experiment etc as everyone is smarter than I am on the subject.

Has anyone done anything like this?

Wanting to buy an Harris S-25C Bipod for an upcoming hunt? Does anyone happen to have one they dont use anymore?

Selling a Vari-X LRT 8.5-25x50 which is the predecessor to the Mark 4. This has M1 knobs and round Mildot reticle.

The scope is used with some cosmetic wear but it is 100% mechanical condition. There’s some finish wear on the edge of the turrets and some ring marks on the bottom of the tube. There’s some very small imperfections in the lenses but they’re so minimal I can’t even get them to show up in the photos. You can see a couple specs on the objective lens but what’s showing up on the eye piece are reflections.

The glass quality on this sample is excellent and it’s an older US made optic.

I’d trade for a Swarovski Z3 4-12 with BRX or BRH reticle. I may consider a 3-10 as well for the right deal. Would also trade for a 700 Classic in 223 (2000 model) or 250 Savage (1984 model).
