• Watch Out for Scammers!

We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!

I figured out the real problem today. Except for a very few clerical staff answering phones, etc, all the NFA examiners are working "remotely". No phone number to reach them, just an email address.

Basically they are all working from home perpetually. So Fed employees working at Federal employee productivity from their couch.
You didn't know that? Yeah, most of them are still working from home "because covid"... 🙄

15 months and counting
This process is a joke. “Latest and greatest” doesn’t exist in suppressors.
2 more comparable suppressors have come out since I paid for mine.
It would be nice to have the most up to date product in my hands and using it before other, better products come to market. Nope! Not when dealing with the ATF!!!
I’m bummed myself, the Gen 2 TBAC 338 SR came out like 6 months after I ordered my Gen 1 back in March. Funny thing is people who efiled have gotten there Gen 2s faster then I got my Gen 1 can. Oh well. Never going paper route again!

Shout out to the manufacturers of suppressors.
Where is your outrage?
Our, your federal government is not trying to help your business, it is harming it.
I, as a past customer am probably not going to be a potential customer for future business from you unless this shit gets turned around.
Contact your representatives.
Why, as customers should we have to put up with this bullshit alone just to buy your product.
Let's start seeing some love.
As a business, you carry a bigger stick than we customers do.
If I am wrong about your involvement, my sincerest apologies, just haven't seen any engagement from your side.

Companies contact representatives. The government doesn't work for corporations. It doesn't say we the corporations. It says we the people.

Besides have you not seen voting shenanigans going on? Are the representatives even 'voted' in or are they pretty much appointed?

Here's your involvement.

I don't think the manufacturers want cans removed from the NFA. They have a captive audience. If every Joe could build 8 solvent traps with no wait or an SOT, it would severely hurt their businesses.

I'm not saying they are bad people at all. Its purely business I think.

That's a big difference than silencer manufacturing companies. JP Morgan chase carries by itself probably the weight of the entire silencer industry. Plus silencer shop just helped with the eform 4 and qr code for the paper forms. They have done alot of work.

Haven't looked over this in a while. I will be 1 year in first part of August for the check cashed. Last I checked it was 12 months but looks like I have a other 4 months to add on that for paper file dang shouldn't of looked at this haha

Right, they did. Because it helped their business. Which is mostly selling the powered by SS 3rd party processing etc.

Never forget they're the ones that destroyed eforms the first time, 8 years ago

Wouldn't know. 8 years ago I wasn't buying suppressors.

That theory has some merit. However, I think that for the higher end suppressors that operate on the gas guns will still be made by companies that can do the extensive machine work with exotic materials.

I have some form 1 cans that I really like on the bolt action rifles but for my gas guns, I'm a big fan of the OSS suppressors.

If the NFA went away, I could see myself buying more OSS products either direct or from the LGS as well as the traditional baffled cans from a friend's machine shop.

The government does not care about businesses unless they are big businesses far larger than any suppressor or gun company which they would prefer went under

Ok, I give, just frustrated and looking for solutions to an IMHO unfair situation

I'm convinced I would still be waiting had I not contacted my Congressman. I'm the least patient person on Sniper's Hide. It's the reason I didn't buy a can before eForms. I refuse to wait 8-12+ months for permission to get my own property.

So when 120 days passed and I still had not been approved, I said fuck it, and called my Congressman. Especially when I was seeing dozens and dozens of people posting that they had been approved in 30-90 days. If I were you guys that are still waiting on an eForm that is over 4 months, I would be calling my Rep today.

Certified and started the waiting period today.

Talking to the rep at PrimaryArms, she said she had not seen any or many coming at 90 days, more often averaging about 120 days. So there is that data point for you.

Yep, I am at 134 days. I might send Kennedy a message next week.

Yep. Been saying that for weeks now. People still want to act like 140 - 150 day approvals are the outliers
I'm at 90 today. It seems eforms have no fucking consistency whatsoever. It's not like the old style eform 1s that were 14 days. 30 during the holidays.

It's the same demand, or possibly even more. I don't see the examiners going faster with a form. The savings are in cutting out all the snail mail shit. That's upwards of 2 months right there. Which checks out given I was getting stamps back in 8 months this time last year.
Oh I agree. I wish it was the same speed as a 4473. Would make life easier all around.

I've been watching several videos on this newly announced info today... This case is a VERY strong case against the NFA, thanks to Clarence Thomas' final opinion on the Bruen vs. NYSRPA case, stating that there must be a history of such laws and regulations throughout out history and tradition in our country. Also, the lawsuit brings up legal comments made during the passage of the NFA, by the judge who passed it, stating that his entire reason for passing it was to deter people from owning such items with a high taxed value of the items, because he couldn't outright ban them, being that might draw some scrutiny and Constitutional problems. 😡

We MIGHT actually see the unconstitutional NFA and Hughest Amendment get struck down very soon. This would also make the ATF pretty much irrelevant. Please Lord, let it happen! 🙏🏼

Double edged sword with the hughes amendment going away, would it invalidate all of FOPA? Or can it be severable and invalid?

The 2nd Amendment is the original FOPA... The rest are just affirming things that should already be common sense, in a world of idiots.

Be interesting to see how this plays out over time. Frigates with cannons operating under Letters of Marque were "historic and traditional" at the time of the writing of the Bill of Rights.

Bought DA Sandman S on 12/23/21. Certified 2/5/22. Received 6/30/22

Form 3 was just approved on my Magnus SR for transfer from ThunderBeast to Mile High. Should in theory be there before Friday where I start my hopefully not 150 day wait 😬

Even if the NFA and various other laws aren't totally invalidated under the Bruen precedent, I'd think that a case based upon West Virginia v. EPA has the potential to cut through much of the random administrative rule-making that causes gun owners so much hassle.

Yes, that case, and ruling on said case, rules against the use of Chevron Deference, which means agencies can’t arbitrarily create rules and laws without first having them voted and approved through congress. So, that will bitch-slap the ATF and Biden and all these states creating bullshit laws to push their anti-gun agenda. 👍🏼

If you haven't seen the vid from the lawyers for the mat Hoover case you should.

Saw this post on arfcom, originally posted in the NFA subreddit supposedly, so take it with a large 40lb bag of water softener salt:

"I talked to an ATF agent from my local field office on June 28th. he was suprisingly helpful, and contacted the NFA branch to see what was going on with these wild approvals. This is what he said: The ATF had started out processing eform 4s by doing the background checks first. This was fine until they got overwhelmed with applications. This meant that they had run background checks for thousands of forms before they were processed. As the forms started to pile up, they were concerned that if they did a background check on a form that would not be processed for months, the background check would not be current. What they did was put all of those forms back in the stack. Now, they will do the background check with the FBI AFTER the form is processed. They explicitly said that it was not the FBIs fault. They did also say that they have just started on the February stack"

This may explain some of the delays that some of us are experiencing.

Unless some of them were randomly pulled/assigned whatever but the majority went this way. No idea if it’s true or not just thought I’d pass it along.

eForm4. Single file. First NFA transaction.

Filed I think 1/10/22. Somewhere around there.

Approval email from ATF was sent to dealer on 6/16 but it hit their email spam filter and was discovered yesterday......

157 days with the ATF.
