A Rhode Island school teacher sent what parents believed was a "threatening" email to their son who was advocating against a "de-leveling" equity agenda.

Either way, any teacher sending an email with even the slightest of veiled threat, should lead to disciplinary action from the school to the teacher at a minimum, followed by a statement from the school, and a personal apology by the teacher. I personally would handle it different...but i'm basically a troglodyte.

Equity and equality are not the same thing. Equality means thay everyone starts at the same place. Equity means that everyone ends at the same place. A “level playing field” will not create equality of outcome. The playing field must be “deleveled” to insure an equality of outcome.
