FEDEX is holding the 2019 $50,000 Business grant contest.

Fire Knives could use this to not only build and equip, but to work with another veteran as well as set aside profit percentages for vet's. Yes, I have huge dreams, but I also move forward with stuff I love to do, and always make sure I throw the meaty bones to places where they do the best work. Once I set up formally, outside of 'artisan', I can get 'sponsorship' type attachments to organizations like IAVA, Wounded Warrior Foundation, VA, etc to make sure percentages of profit go to solid entities.
I am not doing this really for profit, or even to make enough money for a month. I am doing this becuase I have found doing something I love is awesome! I am taking the gamble on self employment, at least part time between VA appointments and stuff ?????

Thank you gents! I have been very fortunate to proceed on learning. I was given great opportunity to learn with the first three blades. I made a wicked kitchen knife for Panty 6, changed it a bit, and now in v2 form it kicks ass. I'm working a micro tanto with walnut handles(waiting for payday for liner stock and kydex to finish it), and received my grampa's old blade he made and have cut it and formed a nice friction folder and a second micro knife blade from it. I am also restoring, restomodding my great grampa's straight razor for my brother. Yes I am keeping busy learning, but the micro tanto upon completion will be the first knife I actually sell.
My issues with my back and TBI are getting worse with forgetting stuff, offensive jokes I don't care if anyone is offended with, and back spasms and neck spasms that randomly happen while I am driving. VAIU or 100% is working, but I have to do stuff to stay busy.
I love making the blades! The metal work, finishing work is very calming when I take a piece of metal, make a design, then remove everything that isn't the blade calms my mind, allows me to focus. With basic hand tools and a vice and torch, I am making cool stuff! As my mentor Kim says,"I just love spinning you up and watching you go!"
Grampa's blade was gonna be a basic folder or simple butterfly. Then Kim goes, "How about a friction folder?" Did you know this thing only has handles centered!? The pivot is OFFSET! I designed the scales and blade in plexi, and made a nail into a pivot pin and used screws to hold the plexi mock up together. BONUS though, the scales can be reversed for my already designed EDC Tanto!(design is finalized, and has been tweaked so it will look really nice)

Thank you all for your support and VOTES! Me, I'm dreaming big, and going all in on this grant or not!

there's a bit of a gap in the market for a small skinning knife with a decent alloy in the 100$ range.

So when ya gonna live up to your name and make a ...'switchblade'?

I don't know of any way to look at the results but would like too. I will just keep on trying.
Fucking thing is probably fixed already and "they" know where the loot is going.
If there is another thread up for a "Firemission" on something like AR15 for someone else we probably don't have much of a chance as I think they catch a lot of punks that will vote on anything labeled "FIRENISSION".
I hope Switchblade has a thread over there.
