Time for Roadblocks and Checkpoints?

They just put a roadblock up in front of my local range. Shit's getting weird around here...

Indoctrination from the state. Good for you.
Happily...the tripe regarding the gg right to travel unimpeded despite the very real threat to the well-being of everyone else. As a former NYC resident I have no issue with completely curtailing ALL travel until this passes. I think God cares a helluva more about saving your fellow man than he does about letting you hit your favorite fishing hole at will. In light of the current state of affairs, responsible people, both religious and secular, should limit their movement without having to be forced. If they don’t and mere mortals have to address the entitlement then so be it.
If they go down that road you are a sure thing for the job.

That’s another thing that pisses me off. Diesel is 70 cents higher here. Since the only thing really rolling is semis. I may be biased though since I’m a redneck that drives a black smoke blowing, dual fueled, big turboed diesel...

I can never quite figure out why diesel is higher priced than gasoline. I actually owned a diesel VW Beetle about ten years ago, great little car, loved it, super fun to drive. The German over-engineering on the electrical system forced me to return it under the lemon law, etc. But...I was getting nearly 45 mpg with it.

You'd think at this time of national crisis the bit oil companies here in the USA would cut the trucking industry a break and drop prices on diesel.

Lucifer is that you?

You obviously don’t read your Bible. Best hit the books before citing what God wants us to do

Dippy, Brother, much of what u say, I agree with. I mean no controversy with you here.
Jesus words that are hard to argue with .

These words would caution us from turning our NJ brother away in time of need, and from elevating our rights above those of another.

Those words from the WORD OF GOD, have a clear meaning hard to twist.

We are all in this together.

Very, very, very respectfully offered.

It's higher because of demand. That's been the case for a long time.

US oil companies aren't in a position to cut any breaks right now.

People with criminal intent to harm us, in some form of trespass, deserve a lawful response to prevent them from carrying out their act.

I'm just frustrated with the idiots who think the rules don't apply to them. All the initial cases we got in the little town near me were brought in from people on vacation. Now that we have a stay at home order, people are ignoring it, or coming up with reasons that it doesn't apply to them.

I'm all for freedom, until you break the law and potentially kill others with your stupidity.

This is one of the many reasons our response won’t work. The virus is going to do what it’s going to do despite any action we take. Can we slow it with all of these measures? Maybe, but that’s a slight maybe. I think they are trying to slow it until we get warmer weather and they are hoping it fizzles out after that. But we really have no idea. I think it’s also important that it’s out there somewhat so our immune systems can start what they were designed to do. Otherwise, if this strain is already messing us up, guess what’s going to happen when it mutates.

Now here is example of why our measures won’t work. My mom called yesterday checking in and was freaking out because my wife went to the grocery store. She asked if she washed her hands and I said it really doesn’t matter, in which case she replied with, sure it does. I was like no it doesn’t. Think about how many things she touched coming back from the grocery store. Food, bags, car, steering wheel, gear shift selector, gas pump, door knobs. I can keep going. So say she gets home, puts all the stuff up and goes back and disinfects everything she touched coming in. Guess what, she didn’t disinfect the groceries so everytime someone touches that bag of bread or whatever it’s possible the virus is living on it. Every time you get a piece of mail it’s possible the virus is living on it. See where I’m going? We can’t control this. That’s just one example. Our efforts are futile unless we all go about in hazmat suits for a few months and even then it’s pretty naive to think we can control this at the onset.

Hi,

How many of you have been to, much less lived in a Country that operates checkpoints and ID stations?

Not talking of checkpoints you operated while deployed, I am talking everyday life.

Demanding such measures against your own Countrymen is opening a bottle you cannot close.

Think very carefully at what you are demanding since the next time you see those roadblocks might be to check your religion, children's sex, pay a tariff via actions from your wife, etc etc.

Sincerely,
Theis

Agreed!

I hope the bodies pile up sky high in NYC

If there is one place in this world that I detest with a passion, that is it.

I got my "papers" designating me and my occupation (Field Service) as Critical Infrastructure on Wednesday. This is to keep me moving thru the roadblocks and detainment that is coming I'd guess. I'd rather stay home but that's probably irresponsible of me.

So, I'll have to continue traveling around keep shit running like Hospitals, Emergency Communications, City Council Chambers, and the like. My hands are cracking and bleeding from all the washing and disinfection agents. I'm a pussy....

VooDoo

This thread proves that politics is not a straight line but rather a big fucking circle with the extreme left and extreme right meeting at the back side. What a bunch of irresponsible entitled douchebags. Take your narrow minded “god-given” bs and choke on it.

Let me know which checkpoint you'll be manning

As it's late, I'm still having/getting to work in comparison many others who are obviously not even "essential" to the American good, and I damn sure am not going to retype all that shit again or even bother to read all the drivel here, I'll just quote myself from the other thread here. I'll skip the irrelevant quote and response I left over there and stick with the meat and potatoes, because it's what's for fucking dinner.

I drive a Subaru, not a WRX but a capable as hell little Crosstrek with a 2.0l engine. My other vehicle is a 60,000 GVW Freightliner with a Palfinger crane and Hy-Rails that I drive on the tracks.

I also was a Gunnery Sergeant in the Infantry with two combat tours, graduated every Scout Sniper School the Marine Corps has to offer, then spent eight years in Afghanistan doing security work because I just can't get enough of combat zone life. Today I work on the railroad helping keep America running and people safe by the sweat of my brow and the ache of my back no matter if it's -20°F or 110°F out, because if we don't move coal then a quarter of America doesn't get power, and worst case if I don't do my job then innocent people don't know to stop at RR crossings.

When you're already a badass, you don't give a shit about trying to look like a badass, and you damn sure don't identify by your vehicle.

Shit, even my wife has more time in Iraq and Afghanistan than 99.8% of this entire forum, and she loves her little Subie and how it gives no fucks about Wyoming canyons in blizzards. She also knows her way around an M240 and used to play with nuclear weapons. There's many a man who only dream of doing as much man shit as she has done, and many more who cower in the corner and never even bother to step up to the plate.

I was also in Denver all week and just got home, we were the assholes blocking traffic out in Commerce City today. Seems most of the vehicles I saw on the road were company branded work trucks and little peckered assholes with their lifted diesel grocery getters on their way to Panera and Starbucks. The problem with Colorado, is it's full of Coloradans...

But please, do go on about all those supposed lib Subaru drivers. That goes for all you fags that need constant diesel powered compensation for your little dicks.

Goodnight. Bitches...
So, you're saying you like your Subaru?...

We have a small self sufficient farm in the country...I have spent a few moments thinking about how long it would take the people in a small town to down a tree or park a truck to stop the city folk from running their way. Also you better know where the bridges are, they will be targeted first.

Things I think of when flying 14 hours to Narita...also THIS is nothing compared to the song and dance I have to go through at different international immigration check points.

I just spent the last 10 minutes consuming this thread and come away thinking that for the most part those calling for road blocks and boasting of themselves have never served even a second of time in the military, other than walking past a recruiting office and thumbing their noses.... shameful bunch the most of you are.... and likely every one of you are "Frustrated Scout/Sniper" wannabes, just like those idiots who took the opportunity a couple of years ago to parade around in front of those recruiting offices with their mossyoak and AR's slung across their chests, after a domestic terrorist shot the offices up a bit...

The one poster on this thread that I came away impressed with was "Redmanss".... As a USNA graduate myself, who served two tours in 'Nam underfire, I respect someone who stands up and tells you people to shut the "F" up... if you want to sound off like you have a real pair, go enlist and prove it... otherwise, take a seat and let those who can make a difference actually do it..

Self sufficient ? Covers a lot of things. Don’t think anyone is elf sufficient these days

"Criminal intent to harm us...."
"Trespassing"
"Deserve lawful response."

Isn't this simply what the Castle doctrine is all about? We have it here in Mizzourah.

Well, in better news gas prices are at historic lows. I'm paying less per gallon than I was in the 1980s (comparing apples-to-apples worth of the dollar historically). But now I've got nowhere to go.

:)

Gasoline might be cheap, but diesel is still near ass-raping levels. Haven't gotten the car out of storage yet, so I haven't bothered to check E85 prices.

Was posted reference an earlier post, and taking all this up a level, to an innocent out of state traveller going home, to be put on the receiving end of some of the posted harsher responses at a barricade or road block.

Many miss the finer points.

Panic overreaction to things out of their control often leads people to respond more harshly than they would under normal conditions.

Having read many of these posters comments over a period of time, I see some reactions I have not seen b4.

Yet, I see a few who would appear to sacrifice their mother for self interest and this is nothing new to them.

I dont see much mileage variance. Jmho.

Wasted words and effort to so many.

You and me both. What a gift it would be if the dark blue areas were depopulated

I don't get it? You guys are totally against asking/telling/ordering someone to stay home to reduce or prevent the spread of a virus because it violates your perceived notion of freedom, and then advocate and wish death and misery upon your fellow American? How ironic.

Every leftist in government is salivating.....
”We’ve decided this is a great opportunity to do away with the Constitution of the United States. Comrades - we do these things in the name of safety. We’ve activated guard units to enforce our will. We will decide on our own penalties for the laws we create as needed. Loyal party members will be deemed essential and issued free travel permits. All others are to remain under house arrest. Hopefully we can milk this emergency until election time. Trumpsters and those who fail to bow to our demands shall be dealt with harshly.”

I agree brother. I think I’ve mixed things up, I don’t support turning anyone away or making roadblocks to keep people away.

Last night I posted about state sovereignty but retracted it because I had to read up on our freedom of travel.

This shit is going to get tricky, and I understand both sides (which assumes there are only two sides, which is excessively reductionist).

On the one hand, we expect to travel freely. Even though it's not enumerated as a Constitutional right, most would consider it to be an essential condition of being a free man.

On the other hand, we have a hard-wired instinct to protect our tribe from external threats. Natural selection has determined this to be essential to our survival.

Now, if I live in a community that has not yet been effected by this latest threat, what obligation do I have to my tribe to protect it from an outside threat, and what rights must I acknowledge of those outsiders to travel freely - even though that freedom may impose a very real existential threat?

My in-laws' community is a sparsely-populated rural community (the whole country has about 4 residents/sq mi), and the age distribution skews sharply towards the older end. They have maybe 2-3 ICU beds. What happens when a bunch of people from the Big City drive up there to seek refuge in their backwoods cabins, and bring a few dozen Covid cases? You're pretty much issuing a death sentence for maybe a few hundred residents. Given that scenario, I might be tempted to man a roadblock. Not saying it's right, but it's understandable.

I studied there will be some interesting court challenges in the coming days and weeks, brecause at some point a couple of NG M60s are going to get rolled across a freeway.

Well if it's all that. When are they going to be testing people and handing out papers saying they are clean? Then only those people can work the essentials for the country. Will there be national guard at the entrance to Walmart checking papers before you are allowed in?
Kicking people out of the Smokey Mountains and sending them home to practice social distancing but allowing Walmart to open the door to whomever?
Road blocks to keep people out of the state but Kroger's is a free zone?
Yes I am shaking my head at the stoopidity and the sheep.
And some of you should pin your "free travel" papers on your chest like a battle ribbon. Fucking stooges that are self important.

I think more likely it will be the local King's Men doing the blocks on the highway.
I have a suspicion the NG and actual MIL will try to stay in a straight relief assistance and support role as long as possible.
Because I think they probably understand that the moment they start pulling triggers on their fellow citizens and hauling people out of their cars into the railroad carriages, things are going to change much faster than anyone can control & they are not looking forward to overnight changing from being in the military being publicly regarded as a honorable profession, to the exact opposite, nor do they want to deal with what would happen if this country starts going full on insurrection mode.

Does anyone here believe that the virus will cease to exist if we hide in our homes for a month?
Two months?
Six months?

As long as a single person has it anywhere on the planet - it can be reintroduced into our country and the exact same 14 days with no symptoms deal gets it ramped up again. It’s here. It’s a part of life on this planet. Sacrificing our economy and people’s lives in the false hope of stopping this is absurd. Putting people out of work and making them lose their homes is not a cure.

I understand that the healthcare system can only accommodate so many victims at a time. People need to practice good hygiene and social distancing. They can do these things without destroying the economy. Send people back to work and work through this problem. Roadblocks and “Your papers please!” Is not the answer.

It’s all apart of their master plan. They’ve played trump and now are his puppet masters and his “followers” are following him into the wolves mouth.

When he signed that MASSIVE GOVERNMENT CONTROL SPENDING bill yesterday I defected from the Trump camp
Spending? PORK get rich and payoff bill.

Just saying

Edit to add. It covered the Fed saying that they are going to pump $4 Trillion into the market. That's $6 trillion in funny money

Roadblocks and Checkpoints have been common thoughout the history of this country.

I'll give you some examples;

- Area's desimated by natural disasters i.e. blizzards, forest fires floods, etc, and where they only allow residents through. Has anyone called foul about those?

- DUI checkpoints. They stop you, and can you imagine what would happen if you didn't roll down your window to converse with LE? This may have been challenged, and will continue to be challenged, not sure if it has ever been seccesfully challenged?

- New Mexico, it has happened to me often traveling through New Mexico. DUI checkpoints on the Interstate. They stop you (and everyone), ask for license and registration. Funny thing, it's always in the late afternoon. Then there's the checkpoints during hunting season, same as DUI checkpoints, everyone is stopped and ask for DL and Reg., regardless if your hunting or not. They say they have the right to search vehicles for illegally taken game. 4th Admendent Rights and Probable Cause not recognized in NM? Has this ever been challenged?

I am having trouble telling if he was led astray by his own “experts”, or if he knew this was inevitable and he did what he could to help his re-election. The problem is that this is how our government functions. Pelosi had that entire thing “canned” and was simply waiting for the “crisis” to spring it. If Trump didn’t play ball, he would then be “the bad guy” in all the sheeples eyes. Yes, we Conservatives don’t like it. I don’t see where he had much of an option...

I just can’t stand it anymore. I thought republicans stood for fiscally conservative limited government? This whole thing stinks to high heaven of big government big spending big control of the citizens and done by bipartisanship.

They’re raping us while throwing out their elbows by patting themselves on the back as fast and hard as possible
That’s why we started the tea party

Fucking big gov statist repubs and demons squashed them. They should be strung up from a light pole.

How many fleeing the plague will note that city life ain’t what it use to be, set roots down in your 2A sanctuary, and hasten the change of the voting demographic?

Maybe that question will be worthy of its own thread one day.
I have heard the the term “white flight”, but believe it’s more like “get away from the Demoncraps” flight. I want very badly to leave the city and get back to a 2A sanctuary, both in laws and fellow citizens.

^ they try to put up roadblocks to stop people from going where they want, and it’s all going to be challenged in a big way.

The way i look at this....is that it’ll all work out. Maybe, just maybe, some of the things that have been going wrong will get righted and we’ll solve a lot of problems in a relatively short amount of time. Idk about the rest of you, but i’ll be laughing my ass off if congress and the senate come down with the kung flu. That virus might be the very thing that saves american freedom.

And how many of those middle of the road or liberal leaning first time gun buyers who are running out buying their first handgun or shotgun because they suddenly feel the need for self protection are going to change their mind on who they vote for come Nov? I'm hoping it makes a difference.

That begs a larger question. Historically, in the places where flight and demographic changes occurred, there was residential apathy, and non involvement. Just bc a few are here, it will stay status quo and we will keep it that way, and those people did nothing, while the new people got active.
And.......

If those new people come to your AO, that your people control.....
DO NOT IGNORE THEM, MINIMIZE THEM, OR REJECT THEM....
Take the time to get to know them, befriend them, and integrate them into your system as soon as possible so they want to be part of the good solutions.

If they reject you, so be it. And when they go into politics, you AND yours MATCH them one on one, to keep the voting on issues reasonably equivalent.
Failure to act, to become involved in politics when THEY get involved, elected, etc, is abdication on a peoples part,

That leads exactly where we are today.

And there is much more to this. So much more, but the basics are articulated above.

From a survivor of white flight in a 9-1(us) ratio today, where life is reasonably successful adjusted to surviving outnumbered. It wasnt the end of the world.
I now have a lot of friends who think like me but dont look like me, fellow teammates in this life.
