I am new here and already have be shit on with my first Question Im not talking to you by the way.
Because it’s like asking us is a ford ranger a pice of shit. Nobody has to own one to know the answer. And yes I’ve owned Chinese crap just like it known as Leupold. Chinese shit is Chinese shit there’s nothing we can do about that. We are trying to help you. Swfa has the best track record of all cheaper optics.

I talked to Monstrum and they say their will hold up to a 338 lapua, and they have alot of customers useing them on the Lapua. they are FFP and made in USA, The only thing is what you guys dont like it cost $$$$$$$$less than a Nightforce, down the road yes right now Cheaper for me.
I say frig it! Try it out if you want but I would make sure they would warranty it if the 338 does end up killing it.

Not sure what u mean, I was not bashing lesser calibers, just my experience with them, But alot of guys here think ya gotta drop $$$$$$$$$$on a scope I beg to Differ? As I have said I have cheaper glass on guns that kick more than my lapua, and they have held up just fine, I dont have $$$$$$ coming out my ass. I guess I cant fit into your elite club? anyway no one awnsered my Question about the Monstrum scope all I got was Bashing. only a few understood my posititon. I like big guns, Sorry. I will find a scope that will work. and in the future I will install a Nightforce on it but right now no. Everyone keeps saying Cheap china scopes Monstrum is made in USA.

If you have cheap scopes that hold up to big recoil already, why not buy more since they are proven? Why risk something unknown and new?

A couple of points:

1) I can usually come up with something good to say about any scope. Monstrum makes that difficult. I have seen a couple of their FFP scopes. The only thing that worked properly with those was the packaging. They do make exceedingly efficient paperweights.

2) whoever told you they are assembled in the US lied.

The reason you're getting shit on is because you asked a question. We recommended you buy something better. Gave you options. You said you're still going with a shit chinese optic. Doesn't matter if it's "assembled in USA", you can't make a good product from shitty parts. It's fucking simple, you're just too hard headed to see through your own bias. People are recommending known brands that actually work accept the advice or don't but stop claiming you have cheaper scopes on light weight heavier recoiling rifles. Anyone can put a $200 scope on a rifle and have it last a while if it's only shot a couple times a year. There's a reason top tier optics cost top tier prices you just refuse to accept that.

Maybe the reason you're not getting an answer is because folks here are not using them.. Or won't admit it...

I'm starting to get why @TheGerman is straight to the point with no bullshit.

Anyway...to the original poster....you've already made up your mind...why bother asking us anything? Coming here asking about cheap scopes is like going to a Ferrari Convention and asking what beaded seat cover to put in a Prius...we simply can't relate.

To me....and I know you don't care...but putting a cheap scope on an expensive rifle is a sacrilege. Scope price should somewhat match rifle price....in my oh so humble opinion.

No sir no one's "bashing" you I think you just don't like the answers you're receiving on low quality Chinese optics and you're lashing out because of it. And no Monstrum is not "made in the USA" I don't even see were that they claim to be and even if they do the "made in the USA" moniker is not what it's used to be as it's been abused by misleading manufacturers. According to the Buy American Act compliant, which means 51% or greater of the parts and labor are sourced from the USA meaning a scope assembled in the US with cheap Chinese parts can legally be labeled "made in the USA".

I dont mind Recoil and I have been shooting heavy calibers all my life, I have outher heavy calibers with cheaper scopes on them and they have served me well. I like big guns and I am not going to change, sorry just me , I have no problem if someone like a lesser caliber but I have seen and used lesser calibers on deer, and I have never had any run from my 300 ultra mag, never, I have had them run with lesser calibers, so that is why I prefer big guns. and yes those shots were all in the boiler chamber,
If you need a 338 or 300 ultra mag to kill a deer, then you may want to find another hobby. I have shot my last 6 deer with a 16” 6.8 spc and they have traveled a total of 10 yards combined. Do you shoot everything at 1500 yards?

Look dude I dont need smartass awnsers, I have killed many Deer with a Bow, I seem to get alot of smartass awnsers on this site. Choose your wepon and no I dont shoot deer at 1500 yards, I just like magnum calibers is that ok with you dude ?

I talked to a guy from monstrum, and he said stay away from china scopes, so you tell me , the scopes are made in cal. that is the feedback I got, I dont mind people stating that there is better glass, Im not stupid, The question I origanally ask was if anyone ever had or used a Monstrum scope, and still I get why do ya need a 300 ultra mag to kill deer, because I can thats why, Hell ive killed many with a 30 30, 30 06, 308, Many with a bow, and yes many with a 300 ultra mag, and a couple with my 338 Lapua, My choice of wepon is my biss, some smartass told me to take up another hobbie if I needed a 300 ultra mag to kill Deer, I know alot of companys outsource parts to China, I guess I will test a Monstrum myself and I am sure it will serve the purpose, and mabye a Athlon also cause they are made in China, but have a lifetime warranty, What I dont need is people on here telling me I dont know jack shit about scopes, Just because I metioned a Cheaper scope. I know about Nightforce, SB all that stuff. I mount my own scopes level tork them to spec, level with a plum bob, bore sight , load my own Ammo, sorry for the rant man but holy shit, some of the replys I got on here were uncalled for.

I DON"T CARE WHAT U THINK.

338L566, there is a sucker born everyday. That scope is not made in California nor anywhere else in the US for that matter.
If you know about scopes like you say, then this fact should be elementary to you. I personally don’t give two shits about what craptastic cheap scope that you want to justify putting on your rifle, but stop the nonsense that the scope is built anywhere other than China.

I said I cant afford one right now. That is why I am looking at cheaper options. for now .

Never trust someone who is trying to sell toyou. Especially when he’s selling something with zero reputation or clout.

Look: if a 170 dollar scope from China is crap, you’re expectin one that’s “made in the USA” to be better just because of that fact(lie)? I’d expect it to be even worse in that case since we have to pay for labor over here. In either case it looks to be about on the ncstar level.

I wouldn’t waste my money on it. Just get a fixed swfa for 200 something used. It’s a real company with a real reputation that someone has actually heard of before and will actually be there tomorrow to warranty it if something does happen to it.

Muzzle breaks are hard on scopes

And stop buying junk optics. Obsolete minimum is a a SWFA 10x

Help wanted ads are full of jobs

Don’t listen to these guys, they don’t have a monstrum. Buy it, shoot it, then post a review on here and convince everyone why it is a good scope. At the price point, even if it breaks after the first mag its gotta be a good deal right?

Do you do concrete work for a living by chance?

Welcome to the hide.
In fairness, you made the comment that smaller calibers have let deer run too far. There is nothing wrong with hunting deer with a magnum, I always take my 7mm mag when I go out of state. But a 338 LM or a 300 ultra is a step up from the run of the mill mag. If you had spent any time in the hide, you had to know that you would get some crap over asking about a $200 scope for a 338 lm and saying that you need a 300 ultra mag to make a drt shot on a deer.

I’ve only seen one millett in the wild, and it was mounted on a m82a1. Go figure, $200 scope on a $8000 rifle.

I disagree. You're not the first to come here to ask for opinions and then act like you're being attacked when people don't tell you what you want to hear.

There has never before been so many good choices of quality optics in all price ranges. There has also bever been so much worthless crap on the market, and some of it for insane prices. A scope that won’t track is not even a real scope. It’s more of a novelty item.

IM not a sucker thank you. but like I said I have a Muller scope in a rem 300 ultra running at least 10 years no problems, paid like $230 for it. I dont understand why all the shit I just ask a simple Question ,

You just shat on everyone who recommended a decent budget scope and now you’re asking about the Razor? I thought you didn’t have $$$$$!!!
Here we go again I just asked about it , in the future nicer glass but noght right now.

Muzzle breaks reduce recoil not make it worse, Please tell me your facts.
Please research and come back and show the class your results.

A lot of air guns don’t kick at all but are harder on scopes than a 50 bmg. Why is that ?
