Range Report Minimum range without damage

Re: Minimum range without damage Agreed that velocity is an important factor...I see some damage to my AR500 from 3,200 FPS .223 at 200 yards, while .308 at 2,600 FPS just knocks some paint off.

New for the Remington 700 - the Bolt Lift

Re: New for the Remington 700 - the Bolt Lift Regarding potential clearance issues, before ordering it would be helpful for me to know approximately how much additional height (vertical dimension) this might add to the knob portion. On my setup, the highest portion of the bolt knob clears the...

    Suppressors 1911 in 9mm

Re: 1911 in 9mm I wanted a 9mm 1911 for Steel Challenge type matches. I spent a lot of time at the STI table at the an area championship match comparing the Spartan and the Trojan. The Trojan stood out with better build and better balance in the 9mm. Found one used complete with a set of Vz...

Rifle Scopes What is your oldest functional scope?

Re: What is your oldest functional scope? I bought my Ted Williams (made by Weaver) 4X by mail order from Sears back in the early sixties while I was a kid. I mounted it on my Remington Nylon 66 back then and it's still on there today, performing just as well as when it was new.

Re: Powder charge accuracy/long range For me, I consider occasional variance of a tenth of a grain out 45 grains much less significant to success than the consistency of one's performance and technique behind the rifle. The occasional tenth of a grain variance falls within the margins of...

Re: Official Falcon IS CRAP thread. An almost Falcon owner checking in. The first Falcon Menace 5-25x50 I received had long glob of something or other inside the tube that created a small shadowed silhouette near the 4 o'clock edge of the eyepiece. Returned for exchange and I ate return...
