Currently I use IMR 4064 for the .243...
Re: Whats your shooting distance?
I shoot the AR to 600 and the .243 to 800. Have over a 1000 yard range but I can't hit much beyond those lines anyway. On the .243 I have an 8-32 scope but keep the power at 10 and never move it. On the AR I have a 4-12 but keep the power on 4 unless I'm...
Re: $1,000
You can buy a pistol or rifle for under a $1000 now, where?
Ha Ha, I am saving up for a FN5.7 right now so that's what I would get. And I hope to get it used so that I can get it under 1K.

Re: May be interesting/worth trying?
Sounds good but was this info out for the RL-15, too? What are the velocity differences in those same temps for RL-15? I'd be interested in seeing what they come up with for .243 win. Using 4064 now with very little velocity changes in a range of temps...
Re: Differences in Berger bullets?
I asked Berger the same thing a few weeks back. Here is what they said:
"The VLD ogive is what makes our bullet a good hunting bullet. Our target VLD bullet has a thicker jacket to with stand the abuse they are exposed to by the long range match...
Re: Ballistic software that simple and easy to use
I've been using Point Blank for both my .223 rem and .243 win. It helped me put together a drop chart I put in my wallet. It has been quite accurate for me and very easy to use.
Re: 2 shots in exactly the same hole?
I generally put my targets with a cardboard backing. If you can't see the second or third shot in a group, check the back of the cardboard and you may see a difference and find your shot. BTW, good shooting.
Re: Starting .243 load
I use the 95 Berger VLD for my 243. Currently I am running them on top of 35 gr. of IMR 4064. However, I did contact Berger about all powders used for 243 and the 95 VLD and they sent me a good listing of powders and charge weights.
If you want it pm me and I will...
I was looking at Midway USA and Midsouth Shooting Supply today and noticed I can save a fair amount when purchasing bullets from Midsouth.
I want to purchase Berger 6mm 95 gr. VLD, Sierra .224 cal 69 gr match and Hornady .224 cal 68 gr match.
Is there someplace else that I should look for my...

I'm sure this kind of thing comes up a lot so bear with me.
Currently I am loading .243 win with 95 gr. Berger VLD on top of 34.5 gr. IMR 4064. I am getting great results but the IMR 4064 meters very poorly.
I am loading .223 Rem with a 69 gr SMK on top of 25 gr. RL-15 and have fantastic...
