Re: 300 vs 338 and the TRG I've owned all 3 at the same time (TRG22 and TRG42 300 & 338). The only one I still own is the 300. It costs half of what the 338 does to shoot, has no recoil and just might be the most accurate rifle that I own (KMW and TacOps included). I've used it for hunting...
Re: TRG 42 trigger Make sure you always keep the 1st stage at roughly 1/2 the weight of the 2nd stage on a TRG. The only thing that I've ever seen go wrong on a TRG is the trigger when the stages are adjusted to close together. You can't have a 2# stage one and then a 2.5# stage 2 if you...
Re: new rem 700 wont chamber a round Probably the front action screw since it "almost" closes. The other stock must have been a hair thicker through there.
Re: No more ERGO? I always prefered the ergo as they were optically superior to T-pals and much less sensitive to paralax to begin with. T-pal requires an extra internal lens to focus. Ergo uses the over all tube length to focus (screw in to shorten, out to lengthen).
Re: magnum reserch lone eagle 30/30 question I was able to lighten the trigger pull weight on mine by cutting loops off of the plunger spring. Badshot nailed the major design flaw of the lone eagle. The lock time is forever and after all of the parts have slammed together and you finally...
Re: A USO question I've been pondering this very same question. Tac Ops rifles are two tone (OD & blk) so I've just decided to keep it simple and go blk. I'd love to see an OD USO on a Tac Ops rifle but, sight unseen, I can't do it.
Re: Bolt lifts hard I chased this same exact problem for weeks with all kinds of load variations and it turned out to be exactly what Go Figure has suggested. I even stuck the bolt once. When you pull the trigger, the brass expands to fit the chamber and squares up the bolt which can drive...
Re: Looking for a riflesmith in central Texas Who did you end up going to? PM me if you would prefer. The guy I used in Austin retired and I'm still trying to figure out where to go now.
Re: new 5R questions My first question is how does your new 5R shoot? The next question is how does it function? If both answers are positive then put some grease on the contact area of the lugs, tighten the stock bolts to 65inch/lbs and go have some fun.
Re: Any TRG 42 338LP owners having fouling issues? To get consistant ignition, he may need a hotter primer like a 215. Have you guys had any pressure signs with any of your loads?
Re: Any TRG 42 338LP owners having fouling issues? It sounds like your friend has ignition issues. I've owned a total of 5 TRG rifles (2-42's and 3-22's). I shoot with several friends who also own TRG rifles. A TRG will go a long way without cleaning and still hold .5 moa. Copper wash...
Re: Lee pro 1000 info needed They work just fine. I used one for years in 44mag and 45acp. It will act up from time to time so you will need to have just a little bit of mechanical ability to keep it running but that's it. My issue with the Pro 1000, I wish they had four stations so you...
