Scratching my head, rough seating issues.

Does a bullet slide freely into a fired case? Makes me wonder if you have a donut .If you do, the bullet tends to get hung up at the base of the neck.

Lets talk about dies… what do you like and why?

You will not regret it if you get a Forester co-axial press and Redding type s full length dies.LawnMM covered it very well, but I would add that bushing dies give you an important additional way to tune your loads by changing your neck tension . I have presses by RCBS,Sinclair ,Corbin and...

The newbie and the friggin flyer!

These groups are not bad for a fully stock deer rifle. If the gun is not bedded and floated, I would consider spending a hundred or so and getting that done.Hard to tune a gun that can't vibrate freely and the gun seems to have the potential to shoot. If you consider getting that done,it would be...

Range Report 95 hunting vld vs 95 target vld 6mm

I think you will see very little difference. In the past ,I have measured the bearing surface on hunting vs target vlds . There was enough difference that I would not use them interchangeably in the long range benchrest loads that I was working on,but they shot very similarly. The 105 hybrid...

Rifle Scopes BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK BEYOND 6 x 24 x 50 scope

There are lots of good options, but I don't think for the money you can do much better than a Nightforce benchrest in 8x32 or 12x42. If you are patient ,you can find them used for $1100 and at that price you can always get your money back if you decide to sell it.

Twist Rate and Max Bullet Weight: Impact Accuracy?

I think you will be fine shooting 175-180 class bullets in an 11 twist.

    6br build

As to your barrel, be sure to get a fast enough twist to stabilize the bullet you want to shoot. I personally would get a 7.5 or 8 twist to stabilize the 105-107gr bullets. I think you will find the thinner barrel profile to be plenty of barrel. You may be surprised at how natural a right bolt...

    Lapua - Uniforming primer pockets

Not needed,in fact I believe Jack Neary in his gun tuning videos states that in their testing it made groups a little worse to to rework the primer pockets.

Redding Bushing sizes -- new to 308

Re: Redding Bushing sizes -- new to 308 I think the Redding dies are excellent.I use the same die set you are using. The general instructions from Redding are to go 1 thousandth below the diameter of the loaded round you are going to shoot. For instance Federal gold metal match measures about...

Rifle Scopes Scouting Whitetail with a thermal question

Re: Scouting Whitetail with a thermal question I have spent a lot of time in the woods with Raytheon's W1000-9.You can spot deer easily across the widest field but the only time you can reliably see horns is when they are in velvet.I can often tell that a deer is a buck by his size, neck...
