Re: Good Dallas Auto Electrician Needed I have a bud in Lewisville that's great, but I think he's just doing german stuff nowdays. He could likely point you to someone who could help you out though. It's Krause's in L'ville and his name is Rob.

    subsonic question

I was just set to buy a 300 whisper reamer, then see 300 AAC blackout everywhere I look. They look to be the same in all but name, but I can't find dimensional drawings on the aac round. Can anyone here tell me if my assumption is correct? I'd sure appreciate the help.

Gunsmithing Can my barrels be rechambers for a looser neck?

Re: Can my barrels be rechambers for a looser neck? In a word, yes! It's a bit touchy, you need a really good feel for your lathe, or you can just use a t-handle and run the reamer in by hand.

Gunsmithing 700 trigger pins bending repeatedly

Re: 700 trigger pins bending repeatedly WOW! He must be rally hammering that bolt! The pins should (if lightly lubed) slip into place w/o a hammer, but there shouldn't be any wiggle in the hole. Peening slightly might work OK, but be very careful and recheck the trigger for safety. Sometimes...

Bolting a safe to the floor. Need advise

Re: Bolting a safe to the floor. Need advise The Wej-it/Redhead work great. You can always grind off the excess inside the safe. Redhead also makes "Chemical Anchors" that are top notch. You just drill in, drop a glass tube containing both halves of some kind of hard core epoxy, then jam the...

Re: need 721 extractor http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=327170 http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=419370 That's all you need. Both bits for less than $20. You'll have to rig something to hold the rivet in place while you stake it down, but it's not...

Advanced Marksmanship Anyone built a Mover to practice with

Re: Anyone built themselves a "MOVER" In the old days we'd mount a target on cardboard/plywood in an old tire. Get a buddy up on the edge of the gravel pit and voila! moving targets. They keep you guessing by taking strange bounces too!

    6.5 WSM?

Re: 6.5 WSM? I have one, and it shoots great! The early experimenters used a 1 in 8" twist like the (super accurate) 6.5/284, and found their best groups were at 6.5/284 velocities. I used a 1 in 9" in an effort to get a little extra velocity and similar bullet stability. It seems to be...

Re: Rem 722 bolt handle came off... TIG weld back on? Ouch! If this ever happens again, give me a shout and I'll pull the barrel for you. That's usually thr best way to get one loose. If the chamber is that rough you may need a new barrel. LMK, I may have one around here that will wouk for you.

    Gunsmithing Which Dial Calipers?

Re: Which Dial Calipers? I have some of all of the above, and as much as it pains me to say so, the $15 Chinese ones work as well as the $200 ones. They are even almost as smooth! I'd reccomend staying away from the digitals. Never seen one that was as reliable as a gear driven dial.

Re: Rem trig ID, adjust. tips, & opinions on 40X trig. What you have is the X-Mark. The XM-pro has an adjustment screw in the trigger. The "old" trigger is a whole different animal, and it came in several versions through the years. I believe the consensus is that the older triggers with...

    25-06 ?

Re: 25-06 ? Either will work. What works best usually depends on what powder you use. Generally speaking, ball powders are more difficult to ignite, amd prefer magnum primers.
