    Privacy on the Hide?

This post is for members on here as well as possibly the moderators. I did a search on a new website that I heard of and found numerous pics and links to for sale ads here on the hide. Being concerned about my privacy, I was a little worried when pictures and links to gun sales that I had on...

    Help with my AR-10T

Re: Help with my AR-10T My Ar-10 did the same thing when new, and I have read about others with the same issue. It only happened when I used some weaker ammo (American Eagle 150gr.). It should clear up as it gets broken in. Good luck.

    .224 77 grain SMK question

Re: .224 77 grain SMK question I have run all of the mentioned loads except the VV140. Both Varget and Re15 worked well. I haven't tried the V140, but many people love their powders. Its pricey though. In my experience the 69's have shot better at short ranges (<200yds). This may be due to...

What dies are you guys using for .308?

Re: What dies are you guys using for .308? Not sure what you're trying to achieve or what kind of gun you're gonna shoot these through? If you want to spend the extra money to get a high end set, you might want to buy Forster. They seem to be as good as the Redding ones i've used, but for...

    best brass...

Re: best brass... Will they be used in a bolt gun or a semi-auto? Semi's tend to chew up the brass quicker than bolt guns, and you won't get as many reloads using one. I've always used Winchester commercial in my semi-autos, and Lapua in my accurate bolt guns. They seem to have the right...

    AR-10 carbine - Suggestions

Re: AR-10 carbine - Suggestions +1 on the 16" Armalite carbine. If you search long enough you may be able to find one for $1200-1400. They're hard to find though. The Armalites come with a chrome lined barrel which can be a good option, and the DPMS's don't have that.

Competition Electronics chrony - any good?

Re: Competition Electronics chrony - any good? I bought the same one about a year ago. Had problems with it though. Errors, velocity variances that didn't make sense, ES and SD #'s that were way too high for my known load, etc. I changed the battery, and tried different techniques to get good...

    Burning a barrel out?

Re: Burning a barrel out? I'm sure that the length of the bearing surface, and the resulting friction also plays a part. The heavier bullets are typically longer than the lighter ones. Longer = greater bearing surface = more friction = more heat!
