Re: .260 rem vs 6.5 x 47 Lapua what do you have? The X47 has NO issues with mag length at about any seating depths. The .260 with 140 class cannot say the same. I think it is a better designed case due to shoulder angle and small primers, but will you notice it on steel? I doubt it.

Re: Your longest kill... Pork n Swine @ 896yds with 6.5x47 shooting 130 JLK's. Bout 200lbs sow she made it about 100yds downhill. Leica 1200 LRF, its tricky to get correct range that far on short animals sometimes.

Re: Optic power to hunt at 800 yds After killing a few swine and deer in excess of 700yds, I agree that 15x is plenty. The F1 is a great scope. I shoot 25x S&B its a big heavy scope. I find myself shooting on 15x-18x most often anyway.
