hey guys, well i have a .243 rem 788 but i want a bigger gun. i was wondering if its possible to make this gun a .308. There both short actions and with the .308 being the .243's parent wouldnt a barrel change be it?????? thanks for any help

well i am considering turning my old 788 243 into a bench gun. my plans are to trade out the factory stock to something designed for for the bench and trade out the barrel to a hevay barrel somewhere in the 20" to 22" range. i cant find either of these anywhere. where do i look???????im looking...

well ive been comparing the numbers and i just cant figure out why so many prefer a 308 over a 270 for hunting. All the way to 500yrds the 270 wins in every category. Now im not talking paper im talking hunting. Why are there NO .270s around here??? I have owned a 270 but not a .308 so its hard...

you have 1000$ for a new factory rifle thats not going to be customized in any way other than floating and bedding, would you pay 300$ for a marlin xs7 with a 700$ scope or 700$ for a remington700 with a 300$ scope? the gun would be for deer with no shots past 500yrds. .308

i havent seen one of these yet, im taking the 300wm into consideration for my new rifle but dont want all the weight of the long barrel, im going to hunt with it, so what would be the down sides of buying a 700p in 300wm and cutting the barrel to 20". other than the kick of a 7lb 300wm

well the last shot i made with a rifle was at a deer on halloween and im about to go nuts, ive been so caught up in bow hunting i havnt had time, and frankly im sick and tired of watching deer walk by at 100 yrds with a stick and string in my hand. ill be at cecil webb shooting range tomorrow...
