    Terrapin.... will be..

Now that is impressive. Time to break out the short range STS missiles.

    Terrapin.... will be..

I put in an order for one. Working part time and charging it to a credit card is a bad business and financial practice, but a bit in interest versus the next higher up unit at $5000 makes it worth it to me. If a few months later a bigger better unit comes along at the same price, I will have...

Suppressors Surefire can worth the extra money?

Re: Surefire can worth the extra money? Well it sounds like the consensus is pretty clear. I have a Surefire X300 that I had fall out of an aircraft, ran over, knocked off a cliff, sat in a lake for a week, in a 160 degree hotsprings overnight..and it is still the same one I carry everyday...

Suppressors Surefire can worth the extra money?

I am about to get my .338 build all put together. I was originally planning on using a Surefire .338 can and their muzzle brake. But I noticed the AAC Titan SS is much less, and I don't really have a need for a quick attach, but having a brake while I'm waiting on paperwork would be nice. All...

target stands.... best I've found !

Re: target stands.... best I've found ! Great idea! I built a similar version of it, but it was probably a bit overkill, as it was way too much metal to lug in and out of the field. I think I'll replace a lot of the metal with wood.

Same Price: Buy a rifle or build a rifle?

Re: Same Price: Buy a rifle or build a rifle? Interesting perspectives, I don't mind the wait because the Krieger won't even be here until well into June, it's the only part I've ordered so far. I'm not in any hurry to get it together. My LRTR in .308 right now runs about 18lbs, so I'm not...

Same Price: Buy a rifle or build a rifle?

Say you can buy a Sako TRG-42 .338LM for $2200. I can build my own .338LM for about the same price. Badger M2008: $1000 Krieger: $300 Mount/Thread: $275 XLR Chassis: $800 Total Built: $2375 Now I don't know much about the TRG-42, or how well they actually shoot. I'm pushing about 1200yd...

    acceptable slam fire

Re: acceptable slam fire I have to agree with all of the above, a trigger that light is just asking for trouble. Say one day you're loading your gun getting it ready to shoot, you close the bolt while your buddy is standing a bit downrange. It just "so happens" to slam fire, try explaining...

    First full custom build .408

Re: First full custom build .408 Rereading your post, I would suggest you stick with a .308, or look into the .260 Rem. I can get consistent center-mass hits at 1200 using a .308 Win and 200gr SMKs. The .260 will give you all the same range, with less recoil, and more terminal energy.

    Photos remington 700.308

Re: remington 700.308 I've always wanted one of those but never figured out how to attach it. Did you replace the stud with a picatinny rail?

    First full custom build .408

Re: First full custom build .408 I guess a few starter questions, do you have a lot of experience with small bore rifles? In that sense, .22LR, up through .308 Win or .260 Rem? Do you plan on hitting soft targets at 2700 yards or have the area to be able to touch out that far?

Re: Tactical Bolts I actually found a long range specialty shop on eBay that did my bolt, including a Badger knob, for $65 including return shipping. They did a fantastic job too.

New B&C Stock .... any tips??

Re: New B&C Stock .... any tips?? I have the Tac Medalist A5, I had to open up the barrel channel by hand because I'm using a #10 MTU barrel. Other than being somewhat heavy, I have no complaints.

    timney trigger !?

Re: timney trigger !? I adjusted the X-Mark on my R700, it's a crisp and clean 2.5lbs. It is the only part on the gun other than the action I haven't replaced, I'm very happy with it. I did however put a Timney in my AR, significant improvement there. But still a bit of creep.
