What's your Fun (bolt action) Gun

A ruger 22hornet. I like shooting 55gr fmj bullets backwards. They shoot good enough.

What's your favorite caliber for hunting?

My go to is a 338lm or a 300wm for big game.

Hunting & Fishing 24" or 26" 300wm barrel for elk hunting

Go long. It will give you a little more velocity and energy.

    Reticle jump when dry firing

I did have one scope fail and the reticle would move when it was warm. All winter it was great but in the summer it would start good then go to hell.

    .300 win mag high pressures?

I am getting 3015fps with a 220gr SMK. I do run a 3 grove tube and hbn on the bullets.

    Anyone use steel cased ammo?

This crap again? It is fine even in a bolt gun.

What 223 setup offers the longest mag feed?

I used to shoot with a guy who cut the front of a usgi 20 Rd mags. They were set up to feed 7rds even though he only used them a 5 Rd mags.

Hunting & Fishing summer coyote hunting

Same things that work in winter works in summer. Pup in distress does work pretty well after shooting starts.

Accuracy International AI AX Barrel Specs

$325! I know what I am going to start making.

A plea to Accuracy International...make a ATMC please!

I would not buy one. It would just be better if the AX was at a lower price point.

Can't read long topics on IPhone?

I looked in the options for a show so many per peg but can't find anything like that. I would love that as it is a waste loading all the pictures every time.

Entry level precision bolt in 6.5 Creedmoor, a lefty can use. Savage vs Weatherby

Reselling truly depends on what you buy. I have had so many Remington 700's over the years it is almost funny. They sell but they don't go as fast as right bolts do. I do think left bolts hold value better. Now if you need to sell it right mow then they go for less.

Entry level precision bolt in 6.5 Creedmoor, a lefty can use. Savage vs Weatherby

Don't buy a right handed bolt gun unless you are only going to shoot it off a bench. Many who are right handed will tell you it ok or some other BS but how many armies fielded left handed bolts for general issue? I have several left handed rifles that I use for loaning out to hunt. Wow every...

    Any 300 WM shooters using mil.pec Mk248 Mod1

I have been shooting the 220gr SMK for almost 20 years. Back in the day it was a popular caliber and bullet for 1,000yds competition. Almost all of my barrels have been Lilja 3 groove tubes. What was the real change for me was HBN. I am getting 3015fps with my current tube. The slowest...

Hunting & Fishing 12ga vs 20ga on pheasant and chukar

I use the 20ga for early season. After the first few weeks I move to the 12ga. Where I hunt they tend to get up sooner as the season progresses. I am also not above using a full choke and ground pounding them.

Ranges leading up to deer season....

Lol. I like it! you could also masturbate with a cheese grater. You know it mostly painful but mildly amusing. I had a friend who would do the same thing. Took years to convince him to get the components to allow me to reload for him.

Too much cost for ammo? You guys are funny. I am loading for my 338 at a buck a pull. Sure that is more than the rest of the calibers I load for but non come close to the performance to the 338lm. If you can find any match ammo for a buck to $1.25 buy all you can.
