Night Vision Mounting Diameter of Steiner SPIR Body

Interesting, did you install tape between the body and the mount to cant and skew the light in the mount? If I can’t find an adjustable mount I’ll do that for sure. I think I’d still prefer an adjustable mount so I can “dial for distance” though. Shooting steel with a 22LR at 400 yards at...

Night Vision Optic ring height for a PVS 30

Old thread, but I just went through something similar. A ring height that put the optic “centered” with the pvs-30 would put the optic too high for comfortable day shooting. After speaking with people with a lot of time behind pvs-30’s and 27’s I was told “as Long as you can see through the...

Night Vision Mounting Diameter of Steiner SPIR Body

Does anyone have a SPIR that they could measure the diameter of the smooth part where the mount goes? I don’t have mine handy and I am trying to find a mount that will let me adjust windage and elevation. I’m using the SPIR on a badger EFR and when the illuminator is fully zoomed in the IR is...

Hunting Match Rifle seems like a misnomer

People has spoken very highly of the MK5 line. I dont think the Leupold is made is America though, but I could be wrong. I think it might be assembled here, but most sports optics glass comes from Japan. When the MK6 came out, people criticized it and compared it based on every feature except...

Hunting Match Rifle seems like a misnomer

I have “match” rifles with big m24 barrels and would not want to carry those through the woods or up into a deer stand. a few years back I built my match/hunting double duty rifle. Here are the specs: manners elite hunter stock accurate ordinance SA in .308 proof 20” carbon barrel leupold MK6...

Manners Composite Stocks Estimated Lead Times

I’m still waiting on an order from June of last year. I paid about a month ago, but nothing shipped yet. Hopefully soon. I didn’t think the Form 4 would beat the stock.

top laser range finder for Long distance shooting

The new offering from Trijicon looks pretty amazing, no ETA other than some time in 2020. I believe the price is going to be around $8k. I also dont know if this will be sold in the civilian market. The terrapin X is supposed to be really good in the “somewhat reasonable” price category.

Vudoo Gun Works V-22 Rimfire Bolt Action

Just curious, could you cut the slot for the follower into mag extension? This would allow the user to swap mag extensions, making the mag body for alll sizes the same. I would imagine the mag body is more expensive to machine than the extension. Since you do not need to full mag length (x axis)...

I ordered Thunderbeast 22 Takedown from SilencerShop in Late June 2019. I got a call from my dealer that a Form 4 came in for me. I figured it was something I ordered a long time ago, it it was the Form 4 with the check cashed in July! Under 2.5 months isn’t too bad!

Care should be taken when using angle compensated distances from your LRF

EDIT: I think I might have misread your original post. You are saying that the RF would return you a reading of 385 yards even though the object is 500 yards away. I thought you were saying that the RF gave you a reading greater than the distance to the object when compensating for angle.

Care should be taken when using angle compensated distances from your LRF

I think you might be missing something. The amount of wind drift has nothing to do with the distance traveled or velocity of the bullet (but these can be components of the calculation). The wind drift is affected by the amount of time that the bullet is exposed to the wind. In your example...

Best Muzzle device to pin and weld to Scar 17?

The 17 is pretty easy on felt recoil because of the heavy bolt carrier (which ironically also causes some weird recoil impulse that kills optics when it slams forward) so a full brake isn’t necessary. I have the warcomp and like it a lot.

    Trijicon RMR on AR

I have an RMR mounted on an SBR’d S&W 15-22. I used the RMR to keep it as light as possible. I find the FOV to be similar to an aimpoint, but prefer an EO Tech if weight isn’t a concern.
