Has anyone tried using small pistol primers in 223 subsonic loads. I know they are not as heavey duty as the rifle primers and can't take the high pressure loads. But just wondering if they would work in sub sonic loads.

Any of you getting primers from PV? Mine have been on back order for about 4 months. I know I'll get them when I get them. Just curious.

Ok I have been wanting to load up the last 100 xtp's I have in 45 but I can't find large pistol primers any place. So I am wondering if i could sub large rifle primers and stay safe I will be using titegroup.

What type of primers do I need for reloading 40cal and 9mm? Is there a difference in the numbers (#1-1/2, #500, etc)?

I went to Jays Sporting Goods in Clare, MI today and much to my surprise they had Federal 215M Magnum Match Rifle Primers in stock about 12 boxes of 5000 price was $4.95 per hundred. I made sure to relieve them of 10,000. F-class is looking up now.

Anyone use cci 450 primers in the 223 AI or is this primer too hot for the 223? I have quite a few on hand, but am running low on cci 400 and fed 205. Since the 450's are hotter, would I need to load down on the powder charge? Thanks in advance. Just trying to make due with what I've got and...

I know that when you change primers you need to back the powder off and work back up, but would a different primer ( large to magnum primer ) change the seating depth? Or is it once the seating depth is established for a particular bullet and barrel then it becomes a fixed and known quantity...
