The barrel and action came from doc76251 and the stock from jpcowboy5. The barrel is a PacNor, medium Palma contour. It took some time for me to grow to love the contour, but the weight and balance seem to be just right for this build. I sent the metal to Harold Fredd and he worked his juju. The rifle shoots great! The scope is a Leupold 12x I had for years and eventually sent off to the factory to retrofit with target turrets and football dots.

With a charge of 4831sc and a 175g SMK, it is currently putting them into a group a bit larger than a half inch. I can only think things will tighten up a bit when I play with the seating depth and charge weight.

Thanks to doc, cowboy and Harold Fredd. All perfect gentlemen to deal with.

That's what I think. I am going to put a black matte finish on it and maybe a bolt knob mod, but that will probably be about it.

Thanks for the props.

What twist rate did you go with? </div></div>

Good question. I have not checked the twist, but it does well with with the 175's, so I am hoping it might accurately fling the 190's. I bought the barrel and action from doc and we never discussed the twist, but it was originally chambered for .308W. It does poorly(so far) with the lighter bullets(155's), but the heavies do well.

Take care.
