I have not chrono'd it yet, so not sure. According to the Hornady loading manual, 46.0 is right up there so I'm not inclined to go higher. Besides, with the groups we're seeing, I'm not concerned about it.

From a 100 yard zero I come up about 57 clicks from a 0.25 MOA scope (right around 72 inches) to split the X ring at 600.

Re: 260 Rem by APA

Probably around 2700 fps I would guess. I have a .260 in a 28" getting 2825fps and isn't getting pushed to hard about the same set up you have and it's 45 grn of H4831SC in win 7mm-08 brass under a 142 SMK. 12.5 MOA to 600 thats 75" I guess. SO 57 clicks to get 72" at 600 yds doesn't add up does it?

Robert,

I made a mistake in my statement. With a 1/4 MOA adjustment scope, I get about 1.5" of adjustment per click at 600 yards. When I come up 57 clicks, from a 100 yd zero, I split the X-ring at about 85" (I usually measure my elevation adjustments by "clicks up" rather than inches.). Now, you're guessing that I'm getting about 2,700 fps, which is reasonable. But I don't know either and, quite frankly, don't care. All things being equal I'll take a shorter barrel any day over a longer one for any number of reasons.

thanks for the catch,
Jason
