This group went 2.441 @ 600! I am pretty excited and hope I can repeat it in the field. A light wind pushed it over and I should have taken 1 click off for higher temp than my chart is made for...

Nice shooting, what twist is your barrel, I have a 280 AI with a 26" Bartlein barrel, looks like I have to try the 168. Nice group.

Who cares what speed it running with that group!!!!

The 280 AI is one great cartridge.



I love mine!!! And when the barrel is wore out I will have moon put another one on!!!!!

1-9 twist
and the 168 is running 2840. not too fast but with the S/B it is just a matter of adding a click or two.. and the barrel lasts longer..

Great shooting! I'm having a 280AI built right now and I'm planning on shooting the 168's. What powder did you use with this load? I was looking to get a little more velocity with this bullet. I guess it doesn't matter if they shoot like that.

280AI was my 1st wildcat. Now I also have a 30-338, 25-06 ackley, and 243 ackley. I can get the same performance of a 7mm mag out of my 280ai. Ackley was a genious.

Does anybody have any 280 AI loads for 160-175 gr. bullets using H4350? I'm trying to convert all my calibers to H4350 so that I can buy bulk and only worry about 1 powder.

6BRX - have a killer load for it already with H4350
6.5X47 Lapua - Need load for it
280 AI - Need load for it
300 WM - Need load for it

Good Idea???

it would work for the BRX and the 6.5x47 but you need a slower burning powder for the 280 and 300 if you ever want to fill the case up

that is the crazy thing about those berger bullets the farther away you get the better they shoot! I was in the pit when these went by, never done that before, pretty cool having them scream over your head supersonic.

The 280 is an often over looked cartidge. Looks like you have a real shooter there.

Feeds real smooth with the Badger BM. I think the AI gives me longer case life and is just somthing a little different... grin

My front rest is sweet, and very functional. It is made by my buddy out of Glasgow, MT. Pat Sinclair and he is here in the hide too, look him up. screen name PGS. I think he is selling them too, also the creator of the "Montana Sling" get your self one of those too! They are the best! If you dont like it I will buy it from you, thats how sure I am...
