JP LOMAS BCG
JP SCS
TriggerTech AR Diamond Trigger
Odin Adjustable Gas Block
Luth AR stock
Rugged Surge 7.62 suppressor
Trijicon MKII 35mm thermal
Sierra Prairie Enemy 70gr ammunition

This was my first AR build. I did the entire lower but ordered the upper already assembled. I built its almost twin in .223 Wylde from the ground up. I test fired it with an old Nikon scope I had in the safe and it shoots very smooth.
Specs:
Aero M5E1 lower, enhanced upper, 15" M-Lok handguard
Aero LPK
Geissele SSA trigger
Ballistic Advantage 18" 416R Stainless QPQ Black Tactical Government Profile Rifle Length Barrel
VG6 muzzle brake
Aero nitride BCG and charging handle
Magpul MOE+ grip
JP Silent Captured Spring
B5 SOPMOD stock
Atlas PSR bipod (from my RPR for the photo, I have a Harris that is going on it with a LaRue QD adapter)
On Order:
Vortex Viper PST Gen2 3-15x44 FFP MRAD
LaRue QD scope mount

I will post another photo when it's completed along with some groups after I sight it in. According to Ballistics Advantage, it should be sub MOA if I can do my part. Can't wait to get the scope and mount, delays are crazy now. Been waiting on the scope mount for 8 weeks and the scope almost as long.

My lr-308 build.

Colfax tactical lower
Dpms upper
Fulton bcg
Black hole weaponry 24" bull barrel 1:11 twist
geissele ssa-e trigger
Jp Ben cooley comp
Jp modular hand rail
Slr adjustable gas block
Accu-tac Sr-5 bipod
Accu-shot mono pod
Standard buffer and spring
Phase5 battery assist lever
Bsa ffp 4x14 scope
Vortex scope level
Weaver 20moa riser
Custom machining on the upper for a side charging handle
Fulton armory side charging handle into the left side of the bcg.
Sniper gray cerakote

Took me about 3 years to get it all together, buying pieces when they went in sale. I know the scope is cheap I'll get a better one in the future.

.65" is the best 3 shot group I've had with 168gr PPU at 100 yards. I really need to get out more and get a good 5 shot group.

Can't remember if I posted this ITT or not. It's Precision and it's a shooter. I think I'm going to sell it to fund a bolt gun though. Hard to say, it's an awesome rifle.

Hey guys! First real post on the hide. Just finished my build. Wife said she wants a baby so... I made myself one🤔 haha. First time with "thermo-fitting" a barrel and quickly realized not to hesitate. Got it stuck halfway the first time but perfect the second. Overall very pleased with how it turned out. Still got to get to the range to get zeroed in and gas block adjusted properly but I have faith it will be lights out.
Shout out to Paul @craddockprecision! My barrel is sweet! Wait time for it hurt a little lol.

Can't seem to get get BAD components. It's one thing to have to order something and wait. It's another entirely to order, pay in full, and then wait. Yes, I am waiting for receivers and rails, paid for in full, back in the summer of 2020. As much as I like their work, I don't think the trust is there to spend $$$ with them in the future.

Nowadays, I'm a fan of V Seven for my all of my lightweight builds. V Seven doesn't expect payment until they deliver. V Seven is a step up in overall fit and finish, as well.

Feel free to email me at [email protected].

This is my most recent but it’s more of a repair/upgrade.
Base gun was GGP “heavy” 308 that was cycling so hard that the carrier was hitting and marking buffer tube.
Mods include:
Surefire brake for Socom attachment
Superlative .750 gas block
Troy BUIS replacing magpul BUIS
Springco extra extra heavy “orange” buffer spring
Springco extractor spring
Geissele SSA-E trigger
Magpul MIAD GRIP
Larue CAN scope mount 0 MOA
Vortex viper PST 4-16x50 MRAD (soon to be replaced by undetermined Nightforce)

Just finished this California Compliant build.

I put 100 rounds through it yesterday and it ran great after I got the gas block dialed in. The SLR gas block is set to the 7th click open. The groups were @ .6 mils at 100yds, (2-ish inch)

All day long it would put 2 rounds on top of each other and then throw a flier. I hope that once I get a good copper base inside the barrel the groups will tighten up.

Aero M5 lower/upper.

Lantac BCG.

Proof carbon 18" 308 10-twist.

APA Lil bastard brake.

SLR adj gas block.

Gieselle SSAE FCG.

API carbon 12" rail. I had to go 85lbs on the barrel nut to get it lined up for the gas tube. It was either 85lbs or 35lbs, I went with 85lbs.

Vintage A1 stock.

Bullshit CA compliant kydex wrapped pistol grip.

Rifle buffer spring with Standard buffer.

KAC Micro BUIS.

Armalite dust cover rod (longer). The DPMS rod was too short.

Pivot pin was very tight. I had to do a bit of sanding on the pin and hole.

Vickers sling with MASH hooks.

Atlas B10 bipod. I will probably go with a Harris 6-9.

I am still looking for an optic. Probably go with a 12 or 16 power.

Edit due to spelling.......

It was on sale over the holidays ---- Sale-bwahhh - thats what I told my wife!

Considering it was shooting 2" at 100yds, I am not so happy with it right now.

It weighs in at 12.3lbs without mag or ammo.

With a really nice barrel, 2 good rounds & one flier.. sounds like you may be one to benefit from lapping your upper & bedding your barrel 🤷🏼‍♂️

Finally got around to scoping and shooting my M5 build.

Aero Precision M5 builder set with 15" mlok fore end
Krieger M110 AMU profile 20" .308 1 in 10 barrel
Precision Armament M4-72 brake
Geissele Hi Speed DMR trigger
Magpul CTR stock with LaRue RISR at A1 length of pull
Nightforce NX8 2.5-20x50 Mil-XT
Nightforce Extended Unimount 1.375" 20 MOA
Harris 6-9" bipod

Currently it has an AR Stoner 2.5 inch 3.7 oz buffer and .308 spring in a standard 7" receiver extension, but is under-buffered with a .100" gas port - one magazine with longer feed lips has bolt over base malfunctions. I'm swapping in a 5.3 oz buffer, Springco orange .308 carbine spring, and SLR Rifleworks Sentry 8 gas block so it will run reliably using all magazines and not move around so much. If I'm not happy with that, I'll move on to an A5 extension with a Springco red and heavier buffer.

The A2 stock I started with was way too long with the extra 5/8" of metal behind the pistol grip, the Magpul by itself was too low, and while I was able to trim a 1/4" Magpul riser to clear the charging handle I didn't like where it stopped leading to the spring loaded RISR that's a hair high a little past 1/2".

12.5 pounds empty, nearly triple the weight of my lightest AR at 4.6 pounds.

10 rounds at 100 yards sighting it in off the bipod, Hornady 168gr BTHP Match. I'm not a good marksman.

Spent a while trying to track down an LMT MWS recently and prices were crazy. Lucked into this PD trade-in for a great price this week and just arrived - taking to the range tomorrow.

Got a 6.5 blank coming next week to play around with converting over to the MWS extension profile. Anybody else do one themselves and have any tips? Trying to decide on a gas system length too, looking at 18” with a suppressor most of the time. Think a rifle length would work out?

Love the mws!
Mines almost done
18 ss,5r
S3g trigger
Socom MB
Skyline bipod

Need a prs G3 stock and I'm gonna swap out this s3g for a 2 stage

I want a 6.5 too,but I'm not paying what people are demanding

If someone comes up with a barrel reasonable...I'm in..lol

May I ask what color of green is your mws? I have one that I to send out for paint and dig your color! 🤙

Semper fi
Horner
I just Cerakoted mine in "Cobalt Kinetics Green" and it looks similar. Mine has a very faint flake in it, and looks great, not sure if same color but it's the same shade. Check out their color chips that may be it.

How long is the handguard/gas system/barrel?

Any accuracy results yet?
The handgaurd is 15", the gas system is a +2" and the barrel is 24". From the research I did and after talking with CLE, I came to the conslusion that a +2" was needed, especially since I am running suppressed. It has an adjustable gas block to dial everything in from there.

The rifle shoots great, half inch at 100, 2887fps with an SD of 6. Ran it out to 1,100 yards, shot great!

With a brake.
And a binary trigger.
I named it Prometheus because it brings fire to the people.

It's a real crowd pleaser at the range.

Took me a little more than a weekend to get out with this one but hats off to Craddock on this barrel. 0.6 MOA with factory Hornady 140 while sighting in a scope this weekend...I was thrilled. Can’t wait to do some load development and take it out to distance.

Cool, Enjoy. I've got a similarly built rifle using Aero receiver, BCG, and handguard, PRS Gen 2, SSA-E trigger, but a 24" barrel in .243 Win. I absolutely love shooting it and have had it in two PRS matches to date. I'm sure yours will shoot.

I will be taking her out on my next day off to break in the barrel

POF Rogue, AR15 barrels added the dissipator adjustable gas block - they also milled off the upper and lower pic rail sections, except 6 in the front, he also milled down the surefire body so it mounted flush with the arisaka mount brought it in an extra 1/3 inch or so.

Cerakote by Immersed Hydrographix - Shooting when its hot is sooooo much better now.

Rogue with no optics or light 5 pounds 9 oz.

XS tritium front and rear big dot dangerous game sights - 0 inch radius because they are so low profile and it IDHTF they work shouldering a rifle unless its something like an ACR or SCAR, they work fantastic at point blank to 30 feet, I call them hallway sights and they are always on - 192 yards is my farthest shot with them - 100 yard hold is 1 foot high and left for center mass.

Eotech XPS3-0 / G33 Magnifier - just got the Unity riser and flip down mount - haven't been to the range to zero.

Hexmag 10/20 because CA

Hellfighter Mod because CA

Elf tactical push button safety because Hellfighter and also its super fast, ambi and its very quiet.

Magpul MOE SL grip - I have big hands, people with small hands should be the Moe K - check your natural trigger finger placement

SBa3 pistol brace with split fix

Radian brown Raptor SD, edges rounded.

Mapul SLS sling with QDM mounts.

Future stuff - 86BLK conversion + muffler

Surefire M640V

I mostly build rifle back in 2018-19, but the can came in recently.

Shopping black Friday sales and aero blems, I put it together around 800 ish.

Aero M5 upper / lower / hg.

Wilson combat 16" 308 fluted ranger.
JP scs with 3 tungsten.
Toolcraft BCG.
Large 2 stage trigger.
SA AGB.
Nomad L with Ebrake.

4-16x42 Atacr with NF 20moa mount.

I do some swapping around with this rifle.
It's fun to swap in a Moe rifle stock, 1-4 Optic, and yhm 10 oz k can for more of a "battle rig". Comes in under 9 with that guise.

Can't decide which setup I like better- if prices ever come down to 2018-2019 levels I might just wind up with two.

A good compromise would be the standard nomad or dominus with an NXS 2.5-10 or similar, but hey, once you get to where you're shooting she's hard to beat as she sits.

Hi y'all. I'm new here and not sure if this is the right thread to post this but it seemed like it to me. I'm building my dad a LR-308 and was wanting some advice. I've built about 10 AR-15's and a couple AR-9's but I know the large frame is a whole other beast. It's mostly going to be for fun and maybe some white tail hunting. Most shots 50-100 yards. We have a spot where we can reach 200 but it won't be something very often ( the property is a couple hours away). I'd like to build with the ability to reach 500 in case one of us gets some property. Here's what I've got

I have:
Lower = American Made Tactical
Upper = American Made Tactical DPMS low pro
BCG = Fail Zero Nickel Boron

Parts I'm looking at:
LPK = CMMG MK3 kit
Trigger = Rose Armament RA-434
Buffer group = KVP carbine tube with 5.6 oz buffer
Stock = MFT Battlelink (he has it on his 5.56 and wants it the same)
Gas Block = probably Faxon or Aero unless y'all recommend an adjustable

And now for the big question;
For the barrel I was looking at the Faxon 20" heavy fluted (p/n: 10B810R20FHQ-5R-NP3) or the Wilson Combat 20" Super Sniper fluted (p/n: TR-308SSRG20FT10) . Everywhere has been out of stock for at least 8 months. Should I wait until one of these comes available or is there another option for around $350?

Also, I'm going to build one for myself as well with pretty much all the same parts except I think I'm going with the PRS stock and I'm willing to spend between $500-600 for the barrel if the extra money is worth it. I was looking at the X-Caliber barrels but they seem to have mixed reviews on here.

Thanks for all the advice and help

Lower = American Made Tactical
Upper = American Made Tactical DPMS low pro
BCG = Fail Zero Nickel Boron

Parts I'm looking at:
LPK = CMMG MK3 kit
Trigger = Rose Armament RA-434
Buffer group = KVP carbine tube with 5.6 oz buffer
Stock = MFT Battlelink (he has it on his 5.56 and wants it the same)
Gas Block = probably Faxon or Aero unless y'all recommend an adjustable

And now for the big question;

@Bocephus1776 you're probably better off starting your own build thread, rather than posting in this build info/pic thread looking for advice on a prospective build. This thread seems to be more for showing off your completed build, and providing the build details. You'll probably get a bunch of constructive suggestions if you start your own build thread.

Thank you. I wasn't sure where to post.

Another big block 6.5 Creedmoor built on a Seekins SP10 Builder's Kit. This one has a 20" Proof Research carbon fiber wrapped barrel with rifle +2 gas system, JP Full Mass Bolt Carrier Group, TriggerTech Adaptable trigger dialed down to 2.5 LB, SLR adjustable gas block, etc. It's set up with an OSS 7.62 brake for future inclusion of an OSS HX-QD 762 TI suppressor. Check out the incredible Tangent Theta 5-25x56 in Spuhr mount that ended up on top of it.
