The ACLU got its start as the legal arm of the American communist party. That should tell you everything to know.

They sue over the 10 commandments in schools but not muslim footbaths and prayer rooms.

I really don't know enough about their history to comment, but if this is accurate it would be interesting to see them explain it.

I wonder if they would have a problem with the 10 commandments in a specific room, and not out where all are "forced" to see.

I see all this as "know thy enemy" type of thing. You need to get to the root of their positions. If it is pure bullshit like it very well could be, they need to be called out on it.
