And here I thought they were so nice, peaceful and just made nice rugs...

Up here in my former AO... we had a nice, quiet Nepalese refugee chop up his wife and mother-in-law with a cleaver.

And I thought they were all such nice, peaceful little people.

Well, except for the Ghurkas. Those dudes will %$#k you up.

On the bright side... they aren't asking for me to register my cleaver. Which, oddly enough, is made by Dexter. Anyone find that also ironic???

Cheers,

Sirhr

The Gurungs are one of the main ones that serve in the British Army, and they're quite proud of that. Probably 20% of my guards in Afghanistan were Gurung, they're known as a warrior clan there. Sad to see this happen to this family, especially with a young girl now without either of her parents.

One thing I know about the Nepalese, they are staunchly against divorce, like low single digit divorce rate for them and that's because of Kathmandu, as it's nearly unheard of in the outer villages. This would not be the first dissolution of marriage by blade, especially if there was cheating involved. This happens on both sides of the marriage too, there was a young lad who got fired for banging a lady in country, he was dead inside 12 hours of getting back in Nepal. Word was the brother-in-law didn't like the shame he brought on his sister and their family, and they literally beat him to death.
