So with the trifecta we now have in CO, I've just been holding my breath waiting for more stupidity to roll out now that the legislative session is underway.

I know we have a lot of CO folks on here, what all are you seeing and hearing that is definitely going to see the light of day for consideration?

I check in on the RMGO bill watch page pretty regularly although I've heard mixed things about them as an org, they seem to have a nice concise page. A lot of the more egregious stuff on there doesn't even show a sponsor yet.

If they go full Virginia this year we definitely need to have a similar level of response IMO. I was out of state in 2013 (came back in 2015) but I understand the response to the mag ban was great but ultimately didn't result in striking it down.

Most of the stuff I see from other Coloradans seem pretty resigned that we are blue now and destined to lose rights. I hope that is not the case.

I am afraid these things you say are true. I am sure Polis is drooling over what is going on in VA and will follow suit when all that is said and done, maybe even now that it went on through to the house. I am luckily in a 2A sanctuary county (whatever that is actually worth), and hopefully we will see more come on board if he decides push things further. I ran into the sheriff awhile back and thanked him for being one of the first to go the 2A sanctuary route during the red flag bullshit. All he really had to say was that he took a lot of flack for it and wasn't sure it was the best thing he has done. I assured him that it was and that the county supported him all the way but the interaction didn't give me a ton of faith.

I have joined RMGO off and on over the years and would like to know more about them and if they are going to be the go to .org like VCDL. If so I need to join back up and get more active. Lord knows I still get all their emails and send letters all the time based on what they put out. I sent one last week to Liston from the Springs about the new bill he wants to push.

I think we are going to be in for the fight of our lives, just like VA. We are fudd heavy and pretty divided as a state. It'll be interesting to see what kind of support we can muster. One of the things that separates us from VA is space, which I think will cause us some issues. Its a half days drive through the mountains to Denver from a good bit of the rural counties that will be the main resistance; Denver is pretty well lost which is what got us in this predicament. Its tough to get us to come to the city, unfortunately I have to go often for work so its easier for me than most. I think we are going to have to go at this on a more local level.

I have been doing everything I can to educate people about guns, take them shooting and talk with them about anti propaganda. Some are receptive and eager to learn. Some are a waste of time. I know I have for sure turned some heads in the right direction and I hope they go to bat. I'll keep doing that as much as possible. Been here all my life and am bummed to have watched it go the way it has. I am often the only one in a crowded room who is a native and I think that is a big part of our problem. I have such a hard time understanding why they move out of a shitty state but want to bring their shit policies with them. Our county is one of the most red counties in the state as our only decent sized town is a prison town but I see that changing already. People are realizing that it has a lot to offer besides the prison town stigma. The other town thats closer to me in another county has changed big time. It used to be a small town dominated by ranching and now ranches are getting sold and houses are being built. I see that going blue in short order. Californians and lib Texans seem to be the new norm in town. It is unclear what the next few years will hold but if I had to bet, I'd say we'll be fighting for God given rights, at least I will.

Clearly you haven't been paying attention. We were first. We were the test State in 2013. They took what they learned from us and applied it to the other States. All Polis did was push the Red Flag law through. And based on other States, Republicans are more than happy to get on the Red Flag train too.

I'm afraid time for lobbying is over. Clearly they are NOT listening. We lobby in numbers, law enforcement lobbies, and they still pass the laws. They don't fucking care about you. They don't fucking care about the Constitution. They don't even fucking care about "their" constituents. They only care about full, unadulterated power to steal your rights and make you property of the State. If you're not in line, they've got legislation coming, Red Flag laws etc., coming to deal with out spoken people like us.

I've said this in another thread too, but it's really easy to give in to despair on this kind of stuff, I fight it myself as I read all the stories like what VA is going through.

That said, I also paid much closer to elections in the past few years than I have (and should have been), primarily because of the debacle of Prop 112 which we luckily defeated pretty soundly (not that it made much difference when they just rammed through SB 181 anyway).

My takeaway was that, in a state with MAIL IN BALLOTS, in a state with nearly 4.0M registered voters, about 38% of people didn't even vote. If even a third of those 1.5M that didn't could be convinced to vote and were interested in preserving rights, the 2018 election could have gone very very differently.

We have to find a way to energize people before the election this year and we can take back the senate at least (from Ballotpedia), not sure about the House:

The Colorado State Senate is among 21 state legislative chambers Ballotpedia has identified as battleground chambers for the 2020 cycle. Click here for more information on state legislative battlegrounds.

    What is at stake?

    • Republicans need to gain two seats to take control of the chamber in 2020.
    • If Republicans flip the chamber, they will break the Democratic trifecta. If Democrats maintain their majorities in the state House and Senate, they will preserve their trifecta.
    Why is it a battleground?

    • Seats needed to flip: Republicans need to flip two of the 18 seats up for election (11% of seats up) in order to win a majority.
    • Seats decided by less than 10% in 2016: The last time this set of seats was up for election five races (28% of seats up) were decided by a margin of 10% or smaller.
    • Seats flipped in 2016: The last time this set of seats was up for election, two seats (11% of seats up) changed partisan control.
    • 2018 battleground chamber: The Colorado State Senate was a battleground chamber in 2018. That year, Democrats gained two seats from Republicans and one from an independent, winning control of the chamber. Read more about the 2018 elections here.
    • History of recent flips: Control of the Colorado State Senate has flipped twice in the past ten years. Republicans gained a majority in 2012, while Democrats gained a majority in 2018.

this is the key in every state! there's a big reason there is no push to ban alcohol or cell phones despite all the drunk and distracted driving carnage. folks are married to their phones, and most like to kick back a cold one after work. it would be PREPOSTEROUS to try to ban them.

get your kids, and their school friends, into shooting and the shooting sports. get them interested and invested. if everyone was into firearms and shooting, it would also be PREPOSTEROUS to try and ban or limit guns.

This is what happens when you let Mega-rich Dems take over the electoral process.

Democracy can be gamed, is being gamed, and is revealing itself to be a fatally failed experiment.

I say fatally, because it's about to start getting lots of actually decent people killed.

So write your reps, have your demonstrations, and dine on the resulting ashes.

We are become the toothless watchdogs of liberty. Shame on us.

Bark and cower. It does no good for your dog to bark and show the teeth if your dog lets them pass anyway.

I'm about to give up on speaking my message because, obviously, nobody's getting it. Nobody wants to hear it.

    Maybe it embarrasses them; IDK...

Not a threat, not anything like a threat; I'm just about done with the whole subject.

    Horses and water...

Time to stop wasting my time...; I could be enjoying myself a lot better with all that time. Might as well, while I still can.

Nobody's doing more than stepping up to the line and then waiting for others to step over.

It can also be stolen. Ever notice that EVERY voting anomaly in the national elections favor the Demonrats?
Amercians won't vote for Demonrats anymore so they pander to illegals. What what the border crisis is really all about.
Why do you think Demonrats want to give voting rights to criminals?
Why do the dead only vote for Demonrats?
Why do Demonrats oppose voter ID?

    This.

Seeing shades of both Stalinist Russia and Maoist China as their desired end state for our country.

    Democrats and Rhinos alike.

Why aren’t these fucking businesses that hire illegal aliens shut down and executives sent to prison?

Why didnt legislation for trump’s wall not get passed in his first two years with Republican control over both houses?
