Someone will get a good deal on the engine.
If you don't know how to drive high performance supercars, you should not attempt to drive on on the roads till you go get some serious training in how to handle them. Even then, don't push the performance when not on a track.
Most suddenly rich idiots don't have any clue of how fast one of those will break away from you if you handle it wrong.
Even people who know what they are doing sometimes get caught out when they trained and practiced by themselves, then they put some buddy in the passenger seat and suddenly the car behaves differently.
Are they really that sensitive to a wieght change?
.
Definitely yes.... the lighter the car, the more noticeable it is.....Are they really that sensitive to a wieght change?
The closest Ive come to one of those is a 66 Plymouth Belvedere with a 426 street hemi.

Yeah, my R58 MINI is real touchy about weight changes. It goes from cornering on rails, to a whole lotta body roll and side wall flex in the tires when I have a passenger....Definitely yes.... the lighter the car, the more noticeable it is.....
In my track MINI.... I could notice the difference in performance between the weight of a 1/4 tank of gas an a full tank of gas.

THAT is one of my all time favorite cars. Same year, same engine of course. R&R Speed Shop used to have one next to the shop and I wanted that damn thing for years. The RO23 and WO23 Hemi S/S were just pure badass. Radio, heater delete, "pantyhose" seat covers. It was made to do one thing.
Yeah, those race cars are very weight sensitive. When I wanted to race at the circle track when I was younger, part of the rules were that you had to have a certain percentage of weight on one side of the car. The track is ramped and you only go one direction. This keeps the wheels on the ground. When you push the envelope, every little bit counts, just like in shooting. It's about eliminating variables.
So if you take a race car built like that and drive it on regular roads, it won't handle the same. A performance car would be no different.
My most dangerous one was an old S10 with a Corvette 327 in it. It was well over 400HP and ran on airplane fuel (you could get 110 Sunoco at the gas station in Morgan Co. AL) and I had to put big slicks with low pressure in the back and do a burnout just to get traction. A bed cover and a spoiler helped keep it on the ground a little bit. Getting stuck on a hill at a light with that thing was worst. I shouldn't have been on the street. No heater, no radio, not even an alternator. Range was obviously cut short. That thing was a death trap, but it was fun to take girls for a spin in it. G's so high you couldn't grab a $100 bill off the dash when it took off.
My peen is so big I drive a 19 year old Jeep with 200k Miles....
Too new of Jeep... but yeah, I get sideways..... lol
Personally I think my first day with a car like that would have me so scared sh!tless I would not be driving too fast. Maybe on day two I would start getting braver.

Paul Walker was old tires and stupidity.Yes they are, if you are used to pushing it hard around corners and through tight turns / spaces by yourself, then try to push it the same way without compensating for the 200 pounds now in the opposite side from you.... Paul Walker.
Some are easier than others because they have a ton of driver assists, others that are more pure racers like the Carrera GT pretty much are looking for a chance to kill you.
Paul Walker was too drunk to say no to his buddy who was too drunk to drive. Tires didn't mean much in that wreck....Paul Walker was old tires and stupidity.
It doesn't take much to lose control, I nearly spun a 4 cylinder Ranger turning left at an intersection in the rain, not even trying to go fast.
There was so little traction I pulled over to look at my tires to see if anything was wrong. I'm guessing it was oil or maybe soap on the ground because the tires were fine and drove well after that.
Add 600 hp to loss of traction and some people can't keep it on the street.
If I had one of those McLarens and drove it like I would want to, I can't say I wouldn't tree it eventually so I can't hate on a guy for doing this unless it can be shown that the cause was pure stupidity (other than driving at 80%).
