• Watch Out for Scammers!

We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!

Well, I just received my two form 4s that were sent in Juanuary. Received in February. Right at six months all told. Pretty happy about that.
On the other hand, I have a SBR that has been waiting on a form 3 just to get to my dealer - 3 months so far. Then I have to send in the form 4 for it. I'm not so optimistic about the processing time for the SBR - hopefully I'll get it some time in 2014... but who knows?

I wasn't really expecting to get my suppressor quickly, but it looks like it may take 16 months total from order to receipt. Here's the timeline so far:

1. NFA Item: Thunderbeast 30-P1
2. Item ordered: 28FEB2013
3. Form 3 filed: 22APR2013
4. Form 3 received/Item shipped to SOT: 07AUG2013
5. Item received by SOT: 14AUG2013
6. CLEO signature and Form 4 forms sent to BATF: 23AUG2013
7. Form 4 application received by BATF: 31AUG2013
8. Check cashed: 04SEP2013
9. BATF acknowledgement: -
10. Form 4 approved date: -
11. NFA stamp received by SOT: -
12. Received 30-P1 in hand -

Lady at ATF said to expect 9 months from first pending status to final approval. Cross my fingers and wait.

There needs to be a "Dunk the Examiner" booth at the SHOT Show. At five bucks per ball we'd raise enough to cure cancer.

This is really depressing. Ordering from TBAC will take 6 weeks, then to get to "pending" is another 6 weeks, then a 9 month wait will be a total of 1 year. Maybe I should go ahead and get every caliber I *might* need just so I don't have to wait any longer...

I called ATF this morning to check on the status of my suppressor and she stated it's pending and they are running about 9-10 months

Just took possession of my Griffin Armament RSTA

March 3rd, 2013, two forms, haven't seen either. LGS says they are getting stamps from forms sent in in January.. So 9 months seems to be the current wait.

Hey anyone N.W. know hows wait time going for Oregon @ this time ? with assigned examiner getting paperwork done & turned around ?
.

Took mine 8 months, the examiner was Snook, in WA
-
was that your 1st time for paperwork ? or that the just the norm.
Just wondering before I start again for 4th time around again. but I haven't done it for a couple years . It was pretty fast after my 1st one & i was in & out in less than 10-12 weeks after the 1st .
.

Called today on one that went first pending on 2/25/2013 and second pending on 6/21/2013.. They are now telling me 9 months from first pending. The last 3 weeks they were telling me 60 - 90 days from second pending.. Today is 89 days from second pending and still not approved.. When will they get their story straight?!!!

I am assuming that by second pending you mean that is was sent back to correct errors and you resubmitted. If so what used to take 2-3 weeks (approval after resubmission) is now taking 3-4 months

Nope. I'm given to understand that "second pending" is what USED to be pending - or some such matter. They now have a new "system" - a term I use loosely in context - that now includes received, cashed, pending, second pending, approved. Or some such shit...

I was specifically told there were no errors with my application. The story the told me was they had a new process that contractors did the verification and then if all was in order it was sent to the examiner. That date was the Second Pending date and should take from 60 to 90 days from Second Pending date.

Lately I get a different story every time I call. Just wish they would be consistent.

Well I figured I'd call and see if I got a new story today and I did.

The one I had the went second pending on 6/21/13 was APPROVED!!!!

And the one I had second pending on 7/11/2013 will be 30 to 45 days.

In Arizona. Examiner is Ann Feltner. Everything sent in that WENT PENDING prior to July 1st was on the six month program. Everything sent in after July 1st is now on the nine month program.

Just received a Form-4 for a suppressor, took 6 months and 12 days.

Next will receive a Form-4 for an SBR, will have taken 6 months and 9 days.

Have another SBR that was sent in May 10th, went Pending July 19th, was told that it'll approve in April of 2014. Nine months.

Please tell me more on this before July 1st, after July 1st stuff. I went pending June 27th and would love some good news right now. I'll have a different examiner, though.

was at my local class 3 dealer in CT , was about to order a surefire can, he's saying (and he does a lot of transfers) about now the wait time is close to the 12 month mark, at least in CT (the gun friendly state ;))

Suppressor Form 4
Sent 1/25/13
Cashed 1/29/13
Pending 2/27/13
Approved 9/24/13

Seven months from pending to approved.... I never got a "2nd pending" as I called two weeks ago and they gave me the Feb pending date. Don't know if it's Pickles or the guy he's training - there's been a couple forms from TN that someone other than Pickles has done.

I bought a supressor today. Got the forms signed and photos done, ready to go. Dude said it'll be 8 - 9 months. Great

Trust changes wouldn't even take affect until mid December or early January. They are still in review.

I know, I'm just curious if they're going the grandfather in trusts that's have been submitted prior to the finalized changes come Dec/Jan after the comment period and any changes the BATFE make as well.

No one knows. Some thoughts promote certain doom and futility, others with positive stand firm affirmations.
Truth is, no one can answer you truthfully. I'm betting the horse to reveal itself as we approach Decembers deadline.
Then we can brace for impact, whichever way that is.

I filed several Form 4's for SBR's after Sandyhook. My reasoning was that if we were going to have to register all AR's they might as well be SBR's. They took 9 months for approval.

My YHM went pending March 26, 2013 and the examiner is Dana Pickles. Called on August 26th and was told, without looking anything up, that it was 9 months from pending. I am still planing to see my YHM by December at least. Thinking that keeps me sain.

I was pending the same day and second pending seven days earlier than bonjourjr above, but no stamp yet. I can picture my file being at the top of the stack on the examiner's desk when this mess hit. Just my luck.
