I wish they would just email the stamp and then you could go pickup the physical stamp when your dealer gets it!

So I bought a pair of Sakers from Capitol Armory and they shipped to my dealer mid July last year. I suspect the paperwork was sent off sometime late July/early August. Tax stamps just came back the other day. So ten months I guess. This is in WA.

Gonna e-file these form 1's when I get around to it. I hear they come back much faster.

The girl that answered my call today has no chill.

Gave my serial, transferer and transferee info and got asked. "Who are you in relation to this transfer? so I answer then get "you're at 6 months and we are running 10 months"

Like a why are you bothering us. So I brush it off and say well I appreciate your help and now I know I dont need to call you for another 4 months and then.... silence...

Hybrid 46, Form 4 Trust, one RP.

Purchased 7/10/19
Form 4 submitted 8/11/2019
Check cashed 8/22/2019
Approved 5/12/2020

Month gap from purchase to form 4 submission was due to not having one in stock since you need a serial number for the application. Will update stamp in hand date when I get it.

purchased 11-20-19
card charged 11-28-19
approved 4-27-20
stamp in hand 5-20-20

just a hair under 6 months from ATF charging the card. As my first suppressor I'm excited. I was going to call last week for the first time but i kept forgetting to call early. they close at 4:30 EST and i'm MST.

On a side note, I just purchased a Torrent T3k this morning from Silencer shop about 2 hours before my SOT texted me about the stamp.

forgot to mention the examiner was Trish Bartles. My SOT said he sees her name frequently on the more quickly turned around form 4's.

Ordered Jan of this year. Still havea long road ahead of me. I've done a pretty good job of forgetting about it until this thread pops back up 😂. I'm tempted to order one for a .45 cal and see if they would be approved together.

As you can see, the wait times were crazy short for me. I was pleasantly surprised when my dealer called me to come get my items. I haven't bought any class 3 since before 41f, so I was fully expecting long wait times. I am convinced that the short approvals for me were a fluke. All items were handled via silencershop for document submission.

I’ve talked to tht hoe before too, she’s not the nicest. Her name starts with an M and ends in an A... that’s the one I’m talking about.

If there’s two “L’s” somewhere in there, I got her about four weekend ago when I called and she was... rather curt. Told me ‘pending’ and before I could say ok, thank you for your time I heard a click.

Who let this guy in here...kick'em out! Lol

My first can on 2015 too 3 months...the recent one was over 10. Ive also put them in a trust as well and from my understanding those take a bit longer.

Congrats on getting your cans

Jackpot! Go buy some lottery tickets!

snagged a Sig 762qd ti during the gander sale. Paperwork took awhile because they closed the store where i bought it soon after and had to send it to another store. check cashed oct 16. Stamp arrived today.

Oct 15 is when the atf got my paperwork, may 1 approved, still no stamp in yet. Shop said the last stamps came in cleared april 23. What in the fuck takes 5 weeks to ship?!?! Covid or not, this is just more gov control. Utter bullshit...

And that beotch at the ATF told me "You're only at 6 months". Our checks were cashed within days of each other.

Because of privacy concerns, I understand that I may get in trouble with moderators on this forum for posting the photos of members who get their tax stamps approved in 5 months or less.

With that in mind, here is a group photo, from the waist down, of the last five individuals on this forum who got their tax stamps in 5 months or less.

Sadly, the photo is a few years old. A bad break on my ankle followed by repeated sprains has made stiletto heels a no-go for me.

But I still look killer in flats!

Rumor has it that Dr. Venkman is going to be put in charge of tax stamp approvals.

Spacex is a few hours away from their historic launch. Meanwhile I cannot take possession of my new can until a paper stamp arrives at my dealer... Come on ATF, update the way you do things!

OK, I need some quick "How-To" help here.

I've done Form-1 (once, so far), but never Form-4. Last night I spotted TBAC Ultra 9's (Compact Brake) in stock at Mile High, so I pulled the trigger on three (3) of them. Card charged, received order confirmation. I put my local FFL info in at time of sale.

Now, I know I need to start the F4 process... but I've never done it, so precisely what do I do now? :p

TheHorta,

You’ll start the Form 4 process when your local dealer either gets the serial number from the distributor or actually gets the suppressor inhand. I prefer teh latter to make sure the numbers match.

The FFL/SOT/Class III you use for the transfer should be able to help guide you through the process. If they can’t, find another who will. This early in the game you might be able to change dealers if the Form 3 (distributor to dealer form) hasn’t been done yet.

I’ve done it through the Silencer Shop kiosk and it was painless. But doing it on paper isn’t too bad either. Just find an SOT who can help with fingerprints and the form 4.

Most recent individual was just under 6 months...but took two months to get jailed from ATF to LGS. From what I’ve been seeing 4 month approvals are not that uncommon.
