Geoballistics Comp Mode update

Edit - you may want to post this in the Ballistics Calc section>

I really thought this program was missing the mark when it first came out. Mostly because it is mostly marketed as a range finder replacement and having access to mil grade finders, to me this seemed a bit pale. Changing their images on the website to better reflect the use of creating range cards either for stage shooting or even terrain mapping (great for the hunter etc.), might be a good idea :)

However, I have recently become a FAN.

There are a few things I'd love to see like an easy way to share Data/Profiles between devices, or better yet even a online portal.. but either way, the target cards are great. I am a fan of FFS target cards too, but the Trimble is heavy/bulky. AB targets don't really sort as well nor are the range cards as elegant.

Something that is key with FFS target/range cards and works the same on the competition mode, is that the naming conventions are key. You don't want to name things generically - ie Stage 1, but rather by range or event, type then stage or sub group. That way they will be sorted when you look them up and you will not have to overwrite stages (save them for repeat or post shoot comparisons). I'd suggest, Event/range, Stage with the individual targets in the range card with Target number, type type of naming convention you can carry over range to range as pointed out in the video.

BTW the Export to excel "CSV" is also a nice touch.

FWIW this the iPhone has some really strange target editing behaviors. If you just attempt to edit as you might on a android by selecting the edit button below the loaded range card or freshly created target, it will appear empty with only the distances are displayed and it is VERY difficult to invoke the keypad. The work around is below~

IOS 11.03 After you've created the targets to edit and actually "see" what your editing:
1. You must "clear" the range cards by hitting the "garbage can".
2. Select Clear all targets.
3. Then check the "empty" box displayed below the target entry data fields - this one looks like a page and pencil.
4. Click the menu at the bottom right select "LOAD Range Card"
5. Select the Card you want to edit.
6. Select the target you'd like to edit. You can edit the original LOS metrics, edit the target name and or move the position for better stage order.
7. Click the page/pencil icon again to save it.

Not you can select all to update the LOS metrics on all targets - or individually.
I realized there was a sub forum for ballistics after the fact and i was going to post there but it seemed all AB based and i wasnt sure if it was an AB sponsored sub forum so i didnt wanna post a competing product there lol.

I agree with the sub groups. Maybe later they will add sub groups so i can name it by range/event, then stages and targets.

Typically i will name them something non generic like stairway to heaven or whatever the actual stage is called so i know im on the right stage and then if any target names are given for that stage i will name them too.

thanks for the iphone information as well.
