Anybody here have any experience with a ransom rest? Ever need to make a custom insert for a pistol (one that they don't commercially offer inserts for)?
I need to make inserts for a Kahr PM9 and a Kahr CW45 (Ransom doesn't make inserts for kahr guns at all). Ransom suggests buying insert blanks and dremmeling them out to accept the intended pistol (Hmmmmm, doesn't sound like it'll be a real close fit that way).
Instead, I'm thinking of buying an insert for a pistol with a larger grip (for each Kahr), wrapping the grip of the Kahr tightly in plastic wrap, coating it in release agent, and using JB Weld to fill in the gaps.
Any thoughts on this at all? I'm betting not, but I thought it was worth a shot...
