Like many of you on this forum, i'm building a M40A5.

I understand that the proper muzzle break uses a legacy suppresser and attachment system i know as FA or Fast attach that is not compatible with the more modern SOCOM FA system.

Did they ever make trainer for the SF FA762-SS suppressor? Besides handing over an arm and a leg and waiting for one to appear, what are some alternatives people have done to make one work with the stock break?

This is what I'm doing: I sourced a standard SOCOM 7.62 black trainer (used). I will be sending it to BSDFABWORKX to be cut down and HUB threaded. Next I will figure out what length tube I need to get the same correct 9.8" OAL of the FA763SS, and have one custom made along with a endcap that looks like the original. All of this will be on a form 1, and I think in the end I will likely have a can that's even better than the real deal.
