I stumbled across this https://quarryhs.co.uk/600mv2015num.pdf on another website today, so (obviously, I assume) I don't own it and have posted it for discussion only.

The paper is a French look at the development of Infantry small arms cartridges from the first breechloaders to caseless ammo. It is long, but stuffed full of absolute gems -like, for example, the French produced over 8 billion rounds during WWI. Pages are devoted to hit probability at various ranges, the maths of direct and indirect fire (and its development) and absolute shitloads more.

Enjoy yourselves, but put an hour or two aside.
