Virginia Gun Control Updates

You can vote into socialism, but you have to shoot out of it. Been there, done that.
I don't think we can peacefully fix this.

Thanks VA Mike-
I will be here and I hope everyone else from Hide that can make it is as well. We are running out of 'legal' chances to stop this horrible violation of the Constitutions from becoming law. Once its law, we have a HARD road to change it - a new political leadership that has the will and power to change it and/or a court ruling that takes years.

COME ON GUYS - TURN ON FOR THIS IMPORTANT MEETING.

I have dental surgery scheduled on Monday. Tried to move it to another day but no cigar.

If anyone needs gas or lunch money for yourself or a friend, please PM.

Monday is extremely important but here's something else to keep an eye out for.

I had already created a separate thread here. But thanks for keeping your eyes open.

Thank or Spank your VA Delegate here

Thank you for your ongoing efforts to oppose HB 961, the grossly misnamed “Assault Weapons” bill.

This radical bill, which bans commonly-owned firearms, passed this week on a close vote of 51 Yeas to 48 Nays.

The bill also bans magazines holding more than 12 rounds. As stated by Breitbart:

There is no grandfather clause for magazines, which means Virginians … will have to destroy or surrender those magazines [holding more than 12 rounds], should HB 961 pass the Senate and be signed into law.
On Tuesday, all Republican Delegates voted “No.”

Every Democrat — except for three — voted “Aye.” The three Democrats who voted correctly were Delegates Lee Carter (Manassas), Steve Heretick (Portsmouth), and Roslyn Tyler (Brunswick County).

One Democrat “voted” present: Delegate Kelly Convirs-Fowler. You can see how everyone voted here.

Contact Your Delegate Based on His or Her Vote
We have prepared “thank you” and “spank you” letters for the 99 Delegates who voted:

1) Thank You Letters. If, from the description given above, you know that your Delegate voted correctly, you can click here to thank him or her for opposing gun and magazine bans.

2) Spank You Letters. If you know that your Delegate voted for gun confiscation, you can click here to SPANK your legislator for casting such a horrendous vote.

NOTE: If you are unsure of who your Delegate is or how he/she voted, then you can click BOTH of the above links and take action. Don’t worry, the system will know the correct message to send and will only sent one email.

In a future email, we will provide letters to send to your Senator. But right now, it’s important that your Delegate hear from you.

So please take action to put on the heat — or to encourage — your Delegate as the situation deserves.

Just to reiterate: If you are taking action using BOTH the Thank and Spank messages — because you are unsure how your legislator voted — the correct letter will be been sent to your Delegate after you have taken action using both links.

Again, the system will NOT allow an incorrect message to be sent to a Delegate. So if your Delegate voted wrong — and yet you fill out the Thank You letter — your Delegate will NOT get a thank you letter (or vice versa).

Thanks so much for your help. And stay tuned for alerts focusing activism to the Senate.

Again, the link is to the quoted text and letter is here

Public parking decks around. Being it’s a State holiday (I think), you should be able to park on the street and not have to feed the meter. I don’t follow the state holidays so verify that before parking on the street for free.

I'm going to try to make it down there, for those that have never been, will be there be a place to meet up. What about parking?
great to hear.
I like the parking situation and infil/exfil SOUTH of the capital. Exit 74A off I-95 South, lots of parking garages on 15th and 14th Streets, right off highway (1/10 of a mile). Park and walk 2-3 blocks north to capital.
In terms of meeting up, I have no idea. My ETA is 0700 and I'm just going to park and walk up, looking for evidence of the meeting.

I remember you from a @Hogstooth (Little) match up in PA. You are coming from Clarke Cty, I believe. Thanks for making that trip. I will look out for you and say hello if I see you.

If I remember correctly the Monkey and I did a deal here many years back. Hope you can make it.

Source please.
I don't want a fucking deal. Nor do I want their pocket knives or Yeti coolers. I want them to do what I give them money to do. FIght for our rights.
Don't get me wrong, The NRA is powerful and I'm glad we have them. I just wish they would not give in on certain things in the past.

No compromises. Stand your ground. This is ridiculous. Do y’all need some Deep South people to come help you out? Nip this shit in the bud.

Maybe one day,
Virginia is a lot more than NOVA and tidewater, they just will not go vote for some reason. Its like " oh, that doesn't effect me and what I do on this hill of mine, I do what I want, nobody comes here and bother me"
well now it is. Most of them don't even know about all the laws that are on the docket, guns, hunting with dogs, etc
Talk about an eye opener.
I've tried to get people involved. I own a small company and I tell all of my employees if they are regestered to vote I'll pay them for the day off if they will go vote. I don't care how they vote but just vote.
But, we will take all the help we can get, this isn't just a Virginia thing, this will resonate through out the country.

First let me say I am as Pro 2A as anyone, that's why I am doing what I do constantly...
This is a side not but worth mentioning, the hunting with dogs thing.

I am a dog owner and have bred champion bloodline line Boxers for many years in the past.

So I know dogs...

What I can tell you is about 75% of (deer) dog hunters where I live are a constant nuisance.
They drink while hunting and constantly think that respecting private property is optional.

They turn their dogs loose on my land while I am hunting, effectively running all of the deer off my land.

I have had numerous run ins where aggression was necessary to make them leave.

So yes, I am ok with the good dog hunters in Va but not the sorry ones.

We need something done about those who don't respect human life, safety rules and private property.

Anyways, what concerns me is that if you give politicians an inch then they take a mile.

Sent to the Crime Commission, which is probably bad for their hopes of bringing it back. When you see no major crimes committed with the majority of things they wanted to ban, it's going to make it harder for them to push through next year.

Make no mistake, this is a MAJOR loss for Northam and Bloomberg. Major. This was their political crown jewel. They control the House of Delegates, the Senate, the Governor, the Lt. Governor, and the Attorney General and they couldn't get this done.

I'm so fucking proud of our State right now. We stood up against them and won this battle.
